Sorry to see that it is retired. Was the best that I have had in over 70 years.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Prior to Sam Adams Light this was one of the best light beers there was.
Watered down and such like all light beers are, but also malty and hoppy. Very good as far as light beers go!

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. my ’favorite’ light beer. Dark yellow. light fruity slightly acrid grain aroma. Spicy hops and moderate bitterness balance well with the basic grain profile. Kinda slick but prickly.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A muted version of Sam Adams Boston Lager. Aroma and taste are faint caramel and hops. Big advantage is lower carbsand calories, but at the expense of lower flavor. I’m surprised the ABV is 4.0% Would rather buya and drink Boston Lager.

I remember having one of these several years back and not liking it. It is good for what it is it’s just that I don’t like what it is. Better than most other light beers yet still tasting of water and lacking flavor.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
I preferred this Lager over the Sam Adams Light which is currently available. I wish they brought back the Lightship lager. It had more taste and originality that sees to be missing in the new Light.

12 ounce bottle. Had this beer many years ago, probably 1997. Not bad for a light beer.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
I had this often when it was made. From notes, this has a great character for a light beer, much better than the "new" light beer that they make and almost as good as Burt Grant’s Celtic Ale when he was around to make that one.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Had this beer on 12/29/1997. It has a golden color with a little bit of a haze to it. The aroma is light and sweet. Carbonation is very high at first but slows down quickly. The taste of this beer is far better than any other light beer I’ve had. It starts off with a crisp body, similar to a good bodied American premium, and goes down refreshingly smooth. The finish is more like a Pale Ale than a Light beer, with the flavor of hops coming though and a mild bitterness on the tale end. This is a great beer and one of the best light beers ever made.
