COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Brown Ale is a traditional beer related to the first beers ever brewed commercially. Brewed with an interesting blend of malts, including pale two-row Harrington, Metcalfe, and Maris Otter malt, Caramel, Munich, and roasted Carafa malts, the Brown Ale shines with a deep mahogany luster. The malt flavor is complex and deep as well, with notes of biscuit, nut, and caramel. With moderate hop bitterness, a deep malt body, and a fruity ale fermentation character, the Samuel Adams Brown Ale satisfies the soul and doesn’t overwhelm the tongue.

Ok brown. SA had a nice try with this, but like mine with some more nut flavors going on. A little thin. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

An OK brown ale. Has a nutty rather than brown sugar sweetness. Medium body and a slightly watery mouthfeel. Bready with a nicely balanced grassy hop balance.

Ruby brown color with a one finger, off-white head. Smell is sweet, mostly of caramel malt, also slightly fruity. Taste is also quite sweet. Wish it was more balanced.

Its a shame this is retired! Aroma, very malty, hardly and hop aroma, slight nutty aroma, nice dark amder color, white head robust!, taste, Goof Autum beer, sweet malty thoughout, slight nuttness comes thorough in the end, palate, easy drinkin, balanced fairly well, overall, A nice Brown Ale for what it costs! Would buy again, I have many times, buts its been retired now for about 2 years :(

Tasted from bottle in Brewmaster’s Collection mix-pack into nucleated pint glass. Poured a clear, light-brown color with creamy off-white foam, somewhat lasting, very little lace. Aromas of caramelized brown sugar, nuts, very slight hops and fruity ale yeast esters. Moderately malty-sweet and nutty flavors with some hops bitterness, caramel, toast, some chocolate, even a little roasted grain dryness. Medium body, somewhat thin mouthfeel, nice bittersweet and fruity aftertaste. Extremely drinkable and refreshing. English Brown Ales are one of my favorite styles. This one is 100% true-to-style, therefore delicious, but not really a superior example.
