Commercial Description:
The Brown Ale is a traditional beer related to the first beers ever brewed commercially. Brewed with an interesting blend of malts, including pale two-row Harrington, Metcalfe, and Maris Otter malt, Caramel, Munich, and roasted Carafa malts, the Brown Ale shines with a deep mahogany luster. The malt flavor is complex and deep as well, with notes of biscuit, nut, and caramel. With moderate hop bitterness, a deep malt body, and a fruity ale fermentation character, the Samuel Adams Brown Ale satisfies the soul and doesn’t overwhelm the tongue.

12 ounce bottle- poured out a strong tea color with a tall tan head that lasted the whole glass. Aroma was a great mix of malt and toffee. The caramel laced taste and cream smooth texture of this beer will make it hard to beat. Excellent.

Much like the Black Lager that came in this mix pack this is weak. I really am not a fan. It has a very average feel to it and is less than the brown ales I’ve had before.

12 oz bottle poured in to a pint glass. Clear, tea colored beer with streaming carbonation and an off white head that is holding well. Smell is all malt and caramel. Poor mouthfeel, kind of light for the style. Flavor is malty, but not necessarily very good. I would drink it if my options were limited, but would not seek it out.

Bottle. Poured a medium brown color with minimal white head. Aroma was of sweet malt and perhaps a touch of caramel. Flavor was slightly hoppy with some nuttiness. Good carbonation. Fairly thin.

One of the best Sam Adams brews. A good beer to drink when you want to take your time and enjoy a beer with flavor.

Pours deep coppery brown with 1 finger head that leaves a good lacing. Nose is not very forthcoming but what is there is malty sweet. Taste is not as sweet as I would expect. Impression is very much of rasted nuts and slightly dry. Not that impressive. Drinkable but would not buy again as their are several browns in this price range that taste much better.

Smooth and malty, with just a hint of nuttiness, almost develops an earthiness to it as it warms, not bad, but not great.

Bottle: Pours a dark brown. The aroma was malty caramel. The flavor was very sweet for a brown ale. It was smooth however, just not my favorite brown ale.
