Lbaxter1988 (7), Massachusetts, USA does not count Apr 6, 2008 A very smooth beer with just as smooth of a finish, has very little aftertaste. For a mass produced brown ale at this price it is hard to beat. rayOfBeer (316), El Cerrito, California, USA Apr 4, 2008 Poured from bottle a mahogany brown with light-tan large foam head. Nose is somewhat subdued with a faint caramel and a fruity tartness. The flavor is also reserved with light roast and caramel hints together with not quite done bisquits and a pronounce tart bitterness. The palate is a bit spotty with not much feel to it. A little light on flavor and a watery palate makes me want something different. I’ll skip this one next time. BrianHagmeier (257), Coralville, Iowa, USA Apr 4, 2008 I really like this one but not for all it has to offer but what it doesn’t. Color, head, nose, palate yeah yeah all good. It balance is amazing! The perfect malt, sweat, bitter and aroma. Talk about the perfect beer. MI2CA (1260), Noblesville, Indiana, USA Apr 3, 2008 12oz best before June 2008 - Aroma of toasted malts with a touch of nuttiness. Pours dark brown with a small head and good lacing. Flavor is standard toasted malts and biscuit. Palate is sticky. One dimensional and not so good. jrmac (210), USA Apr 2, 2008 MEHH Nothing to right home about. Better then a lot of stuff, but its also worse then a lot of stuff. Nice to look at in the glass. kyzr (1119), Belgrade, Montana, USA Apr 2, 2008 Pours a clear brown with small light brown head. Roasty and malty nose. Flavor is really sweet with a nice roasty flavor. Finish is somewhat of dry roasted finish. mgoy (343), Oak Brook, Illinois, USA Mar 28, 2008 Samuel Adams Brown Ale is a mediocre brown ale. The aroma is very full with notes of nut, and molasses. The color is a normal brown with a quickly disappearing head. The taste is bitter from hops, with notes of caramel, malt and sugar. HonkeyBra (1270), Lemont, Illinois, USA Mar 28, 2008 Pours brown with some head. Full aroma, with some nut, some syrup, some fruit. Taste is biscuity, caramel and malty, with little hops. Overall, this is my favorite brown ale.
