Commercial Description:
The Brown Ale is a traditional beer related to the first beers ever brewed commercially. Brewed with an interesting blend of malts, including pale two-row Harrington, Metcalfe, and Maris Otter malt, Caramel, Munich, and roasted Carafa malts, the Brown Ale shines with a deep mahogany luster. The malt flavor is complex and deep as well, with notes of biscuit, nut, and caramel. With moderate hop bitterness, a deep malt body, and a fruity ale fermentation character, the Samuel Adams Brown Ale satisfies the soul and doesn’t overwhelm the tongue.

Samuel Adams Brown Ale is a mediocre brown ale. The aroma is very full with notes of nut, and molasses. The color is a normal brown with a quickly disappearing head. The taste is bitter from hops, with notes of caramel, malt and sugar.

Pours brown with some head. Full aroma, with some nut, some syrup, some fruit. Taste is biscuity, caramel and malty, with little hops. Overall, this is my favorite brown ale.

Faint nutty aroma with some syrup. Solidly brown with more carbonation than I expected. The taste is almost all at the end of the drink - a caramel, roasted malt that is difficult to notice. Looks full-bodied but is not, medium at best. Very easy to drink. Not Koch’s best, but enjoyable.

Pours a nice golden brown color, with a nutty malt aroma and and a full off white lacing head. Nice sweet malty flavor, good brown ale.

Clear brown color with a small head. Very light nutty aroma. Light floral and earthy hop taste. Dry and chalky finish.

A little bit of a nutty character along with very light caramel notes. Seemed a bit mellowed down from some other brown ales. Nothing too special. Won’t buy again but would drink if someone gave it to me.

A good SA beer. Malty and a tad bit of sweetness. Hops are present at finish, but barely. Worth drinking, but there are cetainly better beers to be had.

Clear dark brown color, thin white head. Slightly nutty aroma, with wisps of an odd apricot character that I didn’t notice until I concentrated on the aroma. Pretty basic taste, sweeter than anticipated, some mild hop presence on the back end. Decent, but still a nondescript brown.
