Commercial Description:
The Brown Ale is a traditional beer related to the first beers ever brewed commercially. Brewed with an interesting blend of malts, including pale two-row Harrington, Metcalfe, and Maris Otter malt, Caramel, Munich, and roasted Carafa malts, the Brown Ale shines with a deep mahogany luster. The malt flavor is complex and deep as well, with notes of biscuit, nut, and caramel. With moderate hop bitterness, a deep malt body, and a fruity ale fermentation character, the Samuel Adams Brown Ale satisfies the soul and doesn’t overwhelm the tongue.

Bottle huge thanks to dkachur. Aroma is malty, hints of chocolate, roasty and bittering hop. Taste is similar on the sweet side of balanced, as i would have wanted it, perhaps too much hops in the finish. Still a very drinkable beer, think i drank mine in about 4 mins.

Pours brown, plum tint, 1.5 inch off-white frothy, foamy head. Nice plum, mild malt aroma. Pretty thick consistency, not much carbonation. Kind of like milk. Tastes like milk chocolate, bland fruit and beer. Oh, these contract brewed brown ales. What can you do?

12 oz bottle from Liquor Stop, IN. Pours a light brown with a beige head. Nose is sweet malts, caramel, brown sugar with a touch of nuts. The taste is about the same. Nothing special here. What else can I say ... I drank most of it ... but I don’t really care to try it again.

Pours a dark, transloucent brown with a big tan head that slowly settles. Nice aroma of sweet malt and some hops. Taste is sweet up front, malt, fruit, molassas. Creamy mouthfeel. Finishes better than most of Sam’s beers. I really like this one.

Amber brown in color. Nice head with good lacing. Not to bitter, lots going on once it reaches the palate but doesn’t offend Not much aroma but what it had was a nice welcome. A definite new favorite.

Pours a clear ruby with brown around the edges, has a medium size head of off-white and tan bubbles that dissapate quickly, ale left some decent lacing on the glass, roasted and toasted malt aromas with faint cola fragrances, malt sweetness, that has a touch of candy, real faint chocolate, faint nut fragrance, flavors of dark or big toasted malt, some roasted malt, faint licorice and nut in the background, has a medium hop bite, that sort of lingers on the palate, medium mouth feel with medium carbonation, not a bad drink, I think this had more carbonation then what I prefer and gave this beer a fizzier feel then needed.

Probably my favorite from Sam Adams. This beer has a damn good flavor. It’s medium to full flavored with a heavy body and amazing aftertaste. I bought it in a variety pack and will buy this again.

Bottle. Pours hazy brown, ruby, off white head. Aroma is malt, caramel, toffee, some metal. Flavor is the same with smoke, nuts, bread. Well rounded for the genre.
