Commercial Description:
The Brown Ale is a traditional beer related to the first beers ever brewed commercially. Brewed with an interesting blend of malts, including pale two-row Harrington, Metcalfe, and Maris Otter malt, Caramel, Munich, and roasted Carafa malts, the Brown Ale shines with a deep mahogany luster. The malt flavor is complex and deep as well, with notes of biscuit, nut, and caramel. With moderate hop bitterness, a deep malt body, and a fruity ale fermentation character, the Samuel Adams Brown Ale satisfies the soul and doesn’t overwhelm the tongue.

Pours a nice dark brown with reddish hues fairly clear. Lasting beige head. Sweet malty aroma, brown sugar, yeast. Yeasty, sweet, high carbonation, slightly bitter. Abrupt finish. Looking for a bit more flavor and complexity, but a good drinker.

Slight taste of malts and caramel, with a nice color. Nice aroma and pours with a slight head. Will drink again!

12 oz. bottle. Pours brown with a small to medium beige head that is mostly lasting. The aroma fairly weak with only hints of caramel malt and dry grass. The flavor is also pretty boring with the weak caramel malts, slight metallic, and bread. This is forgettable.

Pours brown with a finger of head. aroma is carmally, and a little matallic. Flavor is slightly nutty, and carmally, but a little to thin and lacking in character. medium bodied. alright.

Bottle. Pours brown (duh) with an orangish tint. Almost no head. Aroma is foul, like brown sugar and burning hair. There’s an attempt at a decent ale here, but with light flavor, no complexity, a thin mouthfeel and a metallic taste, this misses the mark entirely. It does improve a tad when warmed... now it tastes like sucking on rust.

A good mix of malts give this brown ale a nice body. Deep mahogany shine. Slightly bitter at the end, which makes up for the lack of aroma.

Very pretty with clear brown and thick beige head. Not too much to the aroma and taste straightforward with smooth malt. OK

Brown in color with a tint of red. Large tan head is pillowy and fairly long lasting. Aroma is lightly grainy (straw) with mild hints of caramel and roast. Malty sweet flavor turning lightly bitter and a touch sour as wet graininess settles in. Finish is lightly sour, lightly bitter. Nice carbonation level.
