stangger (155), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 2, 2008 12 oz bottle. Light brown. Nice thick taste, with a hint of bitterness at the end. BMan1113VR (2758), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA Feb 2, 2008 Watery aroma capped by moderate malts and hops. Average creamy off-white head covering a clear, medium brown body. Extremely watery taste and a watery mouthfeel with light astringency on the finish. Not a great choice for my first brown ale. Goodgrief (1147), Middletown, Delaware, USA Feb 2, 2008 May 2006 - Another decent take on a style by Sam Adams. The aroma had that funky british brown ale nasty smell, but I guess I can’t hold that against it. Pour was brown, minimal head and little lacing. Flavor was pretty rich, surprisingly, caramel like with some hop bitterness to balance. Very earthy tasting. Decent, but not great. BigDavesBwg (21), Greenville, South Carolina, USA Jan 31, 2008 Brewmaster collection 6 pack item. A good brown ale, but not the best I have tried kaseyk (20), jenkinsville, South Carolina, USA Jan 29, 2008 nice color, rich head and light roasty malt nose. tastes rich with a nice malt profile, toffee and a bit of butterscotch finish into alcohol.not bad rustbucket0873 (145), Krikville, New York, USA Jan 29, 2008 Bottle. Brown red color a small head the lasts a short time. Nutty aroma andf good flavor. Slightly bitter and clean taste. Not spectacular, but I like it. Slipstream (735), USA Jan 28, 2008 Adams continues to impress me with their consistently good beers. This is a dark, clear brew with a foamy head. The aroma is fresh and sweet, with hints of grass, and the flavor is complex and malty, like a good brown ale should be. Smooth and mellow, a little thin, but still nicely hopped and flavorful. patrick767 (2016), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Jan 27, 2008 bottle - Pours clear brown with a caramel malt and nut aroma. It has a tasty flavor of roast caramel malt and nuts with some mild hops in the background. It’s a smooth, simple beer that I rather enjoyed.
