Commercial Description:
The Brown Ale is a traditional beer related to the first beers ever brewed commercially. Brewed with an interesting blend of malts, including pale two-row Harrington, Metcalfe, and Maris Otter malt, Caramel, Munich, and roasted Carafa malts, the Brown Ale shines with a deep mahogany luster. The malt flavor is complex and deep as well, with notes of biscuit, nut, and caramel. With moderate hop bitterness, a deep malt body, and a fruity ale fermentation character, the Samuel Adams Brown Ale satisfies the soul and doesn’t overwhelm the tongue.

bottle - Pours clear brown with a caramel malt and nut aroma. It has a tasty flavor of roast caramel malt and nuts with some mild hops in the background. It’s a smooth, simple beer that I rather enjoyed.

Good solid brown ale. I like low down brown by carolina a bit more but Sam nails the style and it tastes very good.

Bottle. Pours dark, reddish-brown, medium head, nice lacing. Aroma is nutty, caramel. Flavor similar, with a touch of chocolate. Very drinkable, and a fairly good nut brown. Not to sweet, and not too dry.

Poured a dark brown with a nutty aroma. Flavor of nuts with a slight coffee aftertaste. Went down smooth with a slightly bitter finish.

I had this one after the Honey Porter from the sample pack. It had less flavor, but a nice, smooth finish.

12 oz. bottle, pours a dark brown color with very little head. Aroma and flavor were very pleasant with strong caramel and coffee flavors. Palate was disappointing with a questionable aftertaste but overall not too bad of a drink.
