Commercial Description:
The Brown Ale is a traditional beer related to the first beers ever brewed commercially. Brewed with an interesting blend of malts, including pale two-row Harrington, Metcalfe, and Maris Otter malt, Caramel, Munich, and roasted Carafa malts, the Brown Ale shines with a deep mahogany luster. The malt flavor is complex and deep as well, with notes of biscuit, nut, and caramel. With moderate hop bitterness, a deep malt body, and a fruity ale fermentation character, the Samuel Adams Brown Ale satisfies the soul and doesn’t overwhelm the tongue.

0.33L bottle. beautifull deep dark brown colour. Strong aromas of roasted malt. Taste of roasted coffee and burnt sugar. Aftertaste short and bitter. A one dimensional beer.

Pours dark brown with a one finger white head that dissaptes to a film. Nose of piney hops and caramel. Flavours of caramel, malt, hops. Medium body with dry finish. Nothing spectacular, but enjoyable.

12oz bottle. Pours a transparent red-brown with a thick, mostly lasting cream head. Aroma is slightly sweet and toasty. The taste is also mildly sweet with notes of roasted malt and and a little hop bitterness at the end.

Bottle: some caramel sweetness, some roasted notes, some nutty notes, faint cherry notes, a little malty, some bitterness toward the end, overall pretty boring and weak tasting beer, quite thin and dryish mouthfill, dry finish as well. drinkable.

Toasy almost buttery biscuits on the nose and in the flavor. saw it stated on the side of the bottle and wanted to find it....it was there and kind of good. Caramel color on the pour. Caramel and roasted malts show up in addition to the biscuitness. overall a pretty good brew.

Pours a translucent dark brown with a nice foamy head. Aroma is Rich and full, nice toasty malt scents. Taste is very balanced. Malty and sweet, and bitter and slightly fruity all at the same time. A very tasty brew. Finishes smooth with notes of almond and hazelnut. A nice, subtle hop flavor too.

Pours clear amber with lasting tan head. The aroma is mild but does have some staying power with malt sweetness mixed with roasty malts, caramel and mild grainy malts. The taste begins with a streak of malt astringency followed by a roasted maltiness with some teeth. Not bad. I also get some caramel, mild nuttiness and a hint of hops. Into the finish the roasted malts hang around deep into the after taste. An almost bold flavor for a Brown.

Creamy, rich, fuller bodied, round, and complex. It is full of typical caramel flavors, biscuits, bread dough, a slight roasted nuttiness, and a nice deep complexion. It is slightly milder (hops) than I like in this style, so it is average
