Commercial Description:
The Brown Ale is a traditional beer related to the first beers ever brewed commercially. Brewed with an interesting blend of malts, including pale two-row Harrington, Metcalfe, and Maris Otter malt, Caramel, Munich, and roasted Carafa malts, the Brown Ale shines with a deep mahogany luster. The malt flavor is complex and deep as well, with notes of biscuit, nut, and caramel. With moderate hop bitterness, a deep malt body, and a fruity ale fermentation character, the Samuel Adams Brown Ale satisfies the soul and doesn’t overwhelm the tongue.

almond color, sort of soda looking. nice off brown head, a lil cloudy. sweet malt character in aroma with caramel touches. goes down very smooth and feels great in my mouth. very tasty and sweeter than i thought it would be.

THE BEER DOES HAVE A DEEP FLAVOR FEEL TO IT. it is not overdone but still carries a nice malt feel flavor and body. still it is refreshing. the flavor is of caramel with some nut and a nice fruit, more dark fruit flavor. the hop profile is tingly and it complements well. overall this is quite a good brown. they gave this brew some real good attention (i like the alcohol profile very much) and quality sweetness.

The color of fine leather the smells of biscuits, tastes shows caramel and thick maltiness: smooth to drink but bitter finish-- an average drink.

12 oz bottle from Albertsons. Pours a dark brown color with a sudsy off-white head that has plenty of lacing and last a while. The aroma was medium in strength with notes of anise, caramel and toffee. The flavor highlighted black licorice, coffee, biscuit and malts. The hops make a showing toward the finish which was long and smooth. The mouthfeel was full, creamy and malty. Overall: this is a rather good beer, much better than recent reviews would suggest. 12oz bottle from a sam adams mix and match sixer.. Pours an amber brown with a creamy head.. smells of heavier, potent hops but lacks that punch to the palate..There are hints of nutmeg and a piney carbination following. Similar to most uninspiring brown ales, Im not a brown ale fan and this didnt change my opinion

Pours a clear brown color with a decent sized off white head. Nice malty, nutty aroma. Toasty malt, with a biscuity dough accent, nutty, caramel note, with a sweet toffee aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate. Finished dry with toasted malt flavor. A good and drinkable ale.

Typical looking brown. Aroma and flavor is slightly roasted malts with a decent hop balance. Goes very flat quickly like other Sam Adams brews I’ve tried. Pretty boring really.
