Quietman (160), Florida, USA May 6, 2007 Bottle.Lasting head.Sweet aroma like caramel and nuts.Looks very nice.Dark brown, clear.Light bitterness.Medium sweetness.Light body.Dry finish.Tastes like a brown ale.Not bad. Uglyradio (775), Greenville, South Carolina, USA May 5, 2007 Light, malty aroma. Typical, light brown color for the style. Small head. Looks tasty in the glass. Smooth mouthfeel. Light nutty flavor. Not a bad brown ale. jefcon (997), Arlington, Virginia, USA May 4, 2007 Deep brown and clear, with a head that sticks around for an impressive amount of time. Floral aromas along with nuts and chocolate. Palate has more caramel, coffee, even, and lots of malts. Rum, too. Even so, ths is a rather one-dimensional brew. Dry finish with a touch of accompanying bitterness. bbp182 (255), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA May 2, 2007 A drinkable brown ale, like RoleModlin said, not the best available, but I’ll have to agree with everyone, nutty component and a nut sweetness. Probiere (992), Iowa, USA May 2, 2007 As everyone else has said, this has a prominent nutty component and some indeterminate nut sweetness in the middle. A medium-dry finish. I was quite surprised, it is unusual to find a brown that I would drink again. RoleModlin (23), North Carolina, USA Apr 30, 2007 Not the best brown ale available but still drinkable. I will echo others and say...nutty. At least Sam Adams is consistent. Cryotek (206), Pawtucket, Rhode Island, USA Apr 30, 2007 Updated: May 1, 2007in a word i would say average. nothing bad, nothing exciting. There is nothing wrong with this perticular beer, but as i’m trying all the Sam Adams beers, there are so many others i enjoyed better. adwoan99 (244), Ft. Worth, Texas, USA Apr 29, 2007 Fairly thin nose, more reminiscent of a lager than an ale - especially from a style that’s usually pretty aromatic. Palate is quite fizzy, taste is somewhat nutty, and thin as well. Slightly dry & bitter finish. Not horrible, but they could do better.
