Commercial Description:
The Brown Ale is a traditional beer related to the first beers ever brewed commercially. Brewed with an interesting blend of malts, including pale two-row Harrington, Metcalfe, and Maris Otter malt, Caramel, Munich, and roasted Carafa malts, the Brown Ale shines with a deep mahogany luster. The malt flavor is complex and deep as well, with notes of biscuit, nut, and caramel. With moderate hop bitterness, a deep malt body, and a fruity ale fermentation character, the Samuel Adams Brown Ale satisfies the soul and doesn’t overwhelm the tongue.

Maybe I should have had this beer in the fall, but it performed pretty well nevertheless. The aroma is complex with nuts, caramel, and brown sugar malt scents, and is pretty toasty too; perhaps a hint of citrus hops. The beer is a very clear, dark red/brown color with a foamy tan head. It has a sweet, nutty and sugary taste, with a touch of bitterness and is somewhat wet. The texture is not too thick, and it has good carbonation with a pretty lively and fizzy mouthfeel.

Bottle - Brewmasters Collection - Redish brown, not much head. This was a decent beer. Went down nicely and all, but just not much substinance to it. Could taste a little carmal/coffee, but barely. I didn’t get any aroma. No aftertaste. Just nothing to leave a memory. Overall just ok, worthy of a second try, but nothing to write home about.

nice deep ruby color, wispy light tan head, horrible stale/sour malt aroma, very thin mouthfeel, almost void of any flavor except for slight malt, slighltly tannic. not a good beer at all

Reddish brown pour with a off white head. A strong hops and roasted smell. Not a bitter taste at all, but lacks good and or strong flavor and after taste.

Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy/fizzy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium brown. Aroma is lightly malty (caramel, grain, husks), with notes of dirt and ash. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter, husky, unclean. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Amazingly bad. Very dull and dirty aroma, equally foul aftertaste.

Another fine brew from Sam Adams, in my opinion. Pours a clear deep brown with a tan head. Not a lot in the aroma category...maybe a little nutty. Taste is quite good. Crisp with some malts and nuts. Finishes very clean.

Bottle5,9% on the label: Deep clear red/brown colour, with a nice creamy head. Aroma of chocolate,,salty(?),metalic, and a nice hopy ending. Flavor, is almost the same, but there is no saltyness here, thin to medium body, medium bitter/metalic finish.
