jimhilt (1664), Bow, New Hampshire, USA Feb 14, 2007 Pours with a four-finger light tan head that fades slowly leaving a good lace. Clear amber color. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Malty, nutty nose. Flavor starts as roasted nuts with a more bitter/hoppy finish. 12oz bottle from $6.99 6-pak Shaw’s Supermarket Concord, NH. screigh (253), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Feb 12, 2007 Pours a beautiful brown color. Nice off-white head. The head sticks around with some decent lacing. Slight malt aroma and maybe a musty/cardboard smell. Very nice malty taste with just enough hop bitterness if you look for it. Pretty nice offering. dberger624 (1028), Phila, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 12, 2007 Bottled. Good brown. Nice malt taste. Little to carbonated. Palidor19 (1750), Brandon, Florida, USA Feb 11, 2007 A great robust smoky taste of malt and light hops, there is a almost near-perfect balance between the two flavors. The malts have a smoked nutty flavor that would enhance any meal fit for this style. TheBeerBaron (218), Florida, USA Feb 11, 2007 Bottle. Clear brown color. Thick bubble head with good lace on the glass. Sweet aroma of nut, caramel, and syrup. Highly carbonated pallete like a seltzer that was off kilter. Malty yet watery taste, dissapointing considering the great look and smell going for it. Subtly hopped in the end making it a clean finishing beer but lacking any true distinction. Still one of the best you will find in a supermarket. chimpscampee (556), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Feb 10, 2007 Typical SA offering-- slightly better than a generic macro. Ordinary and mild. Carmel malt and slightly metalic hop taste. DuffManOhYeah (124), USA Feb 9, 2007 Pretty good, nuntty flavor. Dark amber color looks great in a glass. Like most Sam Adams brews, I enjoyed it a lot. It’s nothing real wild, but you can’t really go wrong with it either. AdamGott (190), Idaho Falls, Idaho, USA Feb 9, 2007 Updated: Feb 10, 2007pours a nice copper brown (a little thin looking IMHO), aroma mostly a lighly sweet malt with little hops, From a 24 pack purchased at Sam’s Club. a little thin.
