Commercial Description:
The Brown Ale is a traditional beer related to the first beers ever brewed commercially. Brewed with an interesting blend of malts, including pale two-row Harrington, Metcalfe, and Maris Otter malt, Caramel, Munich, and roasted Carafa malts, the Brown Ale shines with a deep mahogany luster. The malt flavor is complex and deep as well, with notes of biscuit, nut, and caramel. With moderate hop bitterness, a deep malt body, and a fruity ale fermentation character, the Samuel Adams Brown Ale satisfies the soul and doesn’t overwhelm the tongue.

A nice light malty beer with some caramel and maybe some smoke. Color is a nice brownish red with a creamy tan head. Very refreshing.

A light brown body with some bright orange high lights. The head is light khaki colored and foamy. The aroma has a little bit of toffee and some chocolate. The taste has some light notes of toffee and black tea. The finish is dry and reminds me of cardboard. A decent brown.

Deep, reddish brown appearance with a small, off white head and nice laciing. Roasted malt aroma, earthy, some caramel. Taste is mild, nutty, caramel with hints of semi sweet chocolate. Medium bodied, a little thin on the palate, well carbonated. Dry, short lived finish.

from thebeermate...bottle....caramel aroma, hops, yeast. pours a hazy brown, nothing too look at really. A hint of roasted malts, some caramel, a little dry vanilla. Not a lot going on but still drinkable. Pretty even steven, not great but definitely not bad.

Pours with a four-finger light tan head that fades slowly leaving a good lace. Clear amber color. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Malty, nutty nose. Flavor starts as roasted nuts with a more bitter/hoppy finish. 12oz bottle from $6.99 6-pak Shaw’s Supermarket Concord, NH.

Pours a beautiful brown color. Nice off-white head. The head sticks around with some decent lacing. Slight malt aroma and maybe a musty/cardboard smell. Very nice malty taste with just enough hop bitterness if you look for it. Pretty nice offering.

A great robust smoky taste of malt and light hops, there is a almost near-perfect balance between the two flavors. The malts have a smoked nutty flavor that would enhance any meal fit for this style.
