Commercial Description:
The Brown Ale is a traditional beer related to the first beers ever brewed commercially. Brewed with an interesting blend of malts, including pale two-row Harrington, Metcalfe, and Maris Otter malt, Caramel, Munich, and roasted Carafa malts, the Brown Ale shines with a deep mahogany luster. The malt flavor is complex and deep as well, with notes of biscuit, nut, and caramel. With moderate hop bitterness, a deep malt body, and a fruity ale fermentation character, the Samuel Adams Brown Ale satisfies the soul and doesn’t overwhelm the tongue.

pours a clear orange brown, a bit of whispy white head aroma is mostly roasted malt and sweetness flavor is similar, though a bit more (and too) subtle hops are not easy to find, but maybe some in the finish as the beer warms up nice body for a brown ale though

Pours a dark, rosy brown with a thick, tan head. Good, pronounced aroma of caramel and a bit of citrus. Thick mouthfeel. Flavor is rather creamy with notes of (again) caramel and cream. Good bit of hops on the end. Pretty decent stuff

Bottle. Pours deep red brown with a beige head. Caramel malt aroma with a bit of toast. The body is smooth and the flavor has toasted malt with a touch of caramel sweetness. Nice.

Dark mahogany brown body that shuns almost all light through it--a two-finger head that settles to a disparate brown ring... smooth, crisp aromatic scents, straightforward ale with a heavier, porterish feel... smooth--not quite oily--and slick presence that has little lingering effects--highly drinkable... withy a soda-like body, the brown element is nice, a bit porterly without the extra nut element that I prefer in a brown... pleasant and drinkable, pairs nicely with turkey and gravy... solid beer that would fit in a sampler well, even as a six-pack pickup for a party--but not in the realm of the upper class Browns...

12oz bottle. Poured a deep mahogany color with hints of red. There is a small head that dissipates. The aroma is toasted malt, molasses, and slight hint of a sweet smell other than the molasses and esters. Taste of toasted caramel malt a touch of molasses, slightly hoppy a touch bitter on the palate. The finish does not last. Not to bad of a beer.

[Eyes] Dark brown, copper tone with delicate white tan head. [Nouse] The aroma is a little malty, in deep the alcohol is present. [Mouth] Taste is malty, a touch of nut, is a little sweet...aftertaste is good witha a little hop dry finish, not as rich in flavor... Serving type: bottle
