Commercial Description:
The Brown Ale is a traditional beer related to the first beers ever brewed commercially. Brewed with an interesting blend of malts, including pale two-row Harrington, Metcalfe, and Maris Otter malt, Caramel, Munich, and roasted Carafa malts, the Brown Ale shines with a deep mahogany luster. The malt flavor is complex and deep as well, with notes of biscuit, nut, and caramel. With moderate hop bitterness, a deep malt body, and a fruity ale fermentation character, the Samuel Adams Brown Ale satisfies the soul and doesn’t overwhelm the tongue.

Decent rusty brown color with some head, but not as much as you’d figure given the giant freaking bubbles. The aroma is shall we say slightly off. Earthy bread, a little hops, and maybe even a little bit of skunk? On the tongue, the palate is thin, though the bubbles less noticable, about right for a session. The flavor is less offensive than the aroma. Bread, dry malt, a little fruit, a little nuttiness, but mostly bitter hops. The lingering bitterness is in line with a a burnt oak.

Pours brown, plum tint, 1.5 inch off-white frothy, foamy head. Nice plum, mild malt aroma. Pretty thick consistency, not much carbonation. Kind of like milk. Tastes like milk chocolate, bland fruit and beer. Oh, these contract brewed brown ales. What can you do?

Bottle: Came in a special pack as part of the "Brewmeister´s Collection". Copper brown, mininal white head. Aroma is earthy, woody, nutty. Taste is oily, soft bitterness, pretty straight forward but in a good way.

Has a pretty good and nutty aroma. Flavor is a little strange. Caramel, a little nut, and some type of weird cherry or fruity finish. Another mediocre beer from sam adams.

Dark brown body, however a little thin when held to light. Head is toasted, yellowish, and hangs for a bit. Aroma is caramel, chocolate and bitter coffee. Taste is sweet honey and caramel balanced by the asaid coffee. After is a bit drying and bitter from the hops. Decent beer.

Deep bronzy brown with a full tan head. Nose is mild and nutty, but very faint. Taste is at first dry and a little creamy, resolving into nutty medium bitters at the finish. Body is a little thin and a little fizzy. Overall flavor is so so. Sort of a letdown.

Caramel in color with a light tan head. Aroma is sweet malt, honey, floral hops and molasses. Flavor has the bite of hops, but not much of their flavor. Rather sweet, honey malt flavor with molasses, too. Nice body for a brown. An inoffensive beer, nothing special.

It’s not a bad brown ale. Pours a reddish brown. Good full white head. It’s got a hazle nut taste in their. I was glad to try it. This beer doesn’t keep well though. Even though I kept it in the fridge its shelf life was 1 week and a half. This happened more then once.
