Commercial Description:
The Brown Ale is a traditional beer related to the first beers ever brewed commercially. Brewed with an interesting blend of malts, including pale two-row Harrington, Metcalfe, and Maris Otter malt, Caramel, Munich, and roasted Carafa malts, the Brown Ale shines with a deep mahogany luster. The malt flavor is complex and deep as well, with notes of biscuit, nut, and caramel. With moderate hop bitterness, a deep malt body, and a fruity ale fermentation character, the Samuel Adams Brown Ale satisfies the soul and doesn’t overwhelm the tongue.

Bottle. Darker beer with a light brown head and nice smell. Great nutty flavor.

Nice deep purply brown with a two finger light tan head, recedes quickly. Good sweet aromas, sweet cinnamon breads but no noticeable hops. Flavors are sweet, caramel and even slight plumminess or some dark fruit. Body is tingly on the tongue, the refreshing carbonation borders on overdoing it but helps make this beer finish easily. Unfortunately with no noticeable hops in the finish it is sweet all the way through.

Poured a dark red with a small tannish head. The aroma was of nuts, caramel, and malt. It left a slight lacing on the glass. The taste was a lot of caramel and a littly nutty. It wasn’t the best, but better than most.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear brown-red body with a finger-width, creamy, light brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a good amount of lacing. Aroma is caramel malty with a nutty, light toasty biscuit. A whiff of fruit comes in as well. Flavor is nice. Soft and sweet caramels with a light, balancing burnt roast flavor. A light nut and biscuit, some fruit, and some dusty chocolate, but mostly a nice, slightly burnt caramel. Finishes with a light bitterness, burnt roast, and malty caramels that linger for a good amount of time. Medium bodied and fairly dry after a smooth body and soft carbonation. Overall, a tasty brown ale. Nice malts and a balancing roast. I wasn’t expecting this to have any roast flavor, but it definitely satisfied. Nice beer.

Pours to a medium tan head that laps at the side of the mug. Very smooth taste that is not bitter and doesn’t leave an aftertaste. You can definately smell the caramel in the aroma.

Pretty typical, but solid brown ale. Brown color with tan head. Lots of malt. Not too strong. Like most of the Sam Adams products, it is good but not stellar.

Poured into a pint glass from a 12oz. bottle. The color is a dark brown/copper, with a dirty white head. The smell is sweet with a nutty flavor, and some hints of hops. The taste is of roasted malts, some caramel flavor, with hints of bitter hops. This beer is a nice smooth session beer. A little higher in ABV then most session beers but light in body and mouthfeel.
