COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This special release is brewed just for the holidays. For a new approach to a classic favorite, we added cherries to our traditional Chocolate Bock for a sweet, slightly tart note. Aged on a bed of dark cocoa nibs, the malty, chocolaty, and dark fruit flavors create a rich, complex beer perfect for winter. Cheers!

Bottle. The look is cola, a beige colored head, and dark. The smell is Dr. Pepper, cherry, fruits, cocoa, cola, and vanilla. The taste is more cocoa, malt, fruit, and interesting.

Pours a dark slightly red hued brown with minimal quickly disappointing tan head. Aroma is sweet with cherry and bits of cocoa nibs. Slightly weak body with a cherry pie finish. Overall sweet roasted beer great for the holidays!

The beer pours out black and opaque with almost no head. Immediate aromas of cough-syrup cherry and dark chocolate, it reminds me of a Tootsie Roll cherry lollipop in a bad way. Luckily it improves with the flavor where the sweet/roasted malt helps even out the cherry and chocolate. Now it’s like a cherry tootsie pop but in a good way! Great mouthfeel, it’s slick ,thick and oily. Probably the worst beer in the 2013 winter mix pack, definitely wouldn’t buy a six pack or order it at a bar.

12 oz. bottle Pours dark reddish brown with some ruby highlights. One finger off white head. Aroma is cherry cough drops with maybe a hint of chocolate. Flavor is chocolate covered cherries, the cheap ones in the Whitman Sampler, not the real good ones from a chocolatier. Medium bodied with a cherry cough syrup finish. Not a bad beer, but a poor replacement for the Holiday Porter that used to be in the Christmas 12 pack.

Appearance was reddish black with diminishing tan creamy 1/2 head, no lacing. Aromas are brown sugar, cherry, chocolate, hints of coffee, no alcohol. Taste are dominate cherry sherry, chocolate, maple, toffee and coffee. Palate are soft creamy smooth CO2 with medium body, easy going smooth cherry sweet chocolate finish. A solid stout, but tad to much cherry and sweetness.

From the Winter dampler. Decent beer. Cherry in the flavor and aroma. A lottle sweet, brown sugar and malt.

Bottle from the 12 pack from Market Basket Pours a deep dark brown with faint garnet highlights at the edges and a smallish off white head that quickly dissipates. Aromas of cherry overwhelm my olfactory system. Tart sweet medicinal cough drop conjuring cherry aromas. Everything I hate about Sam Adams cherry wheat unfortunately made it into this beer. Light chocolate and burnt sugars deep underneath, I think. The flavor is sweet medicinal cherry with bits of Hershey’s syrup drizzled on top. Hints of dark sugary flavors are there but little else. Medium body with a sweet sticky syrupy mouthfeel and a light level of carbonation. I choked down the last of this bottle, but on the bright side my cough cleared up. Now to pawn the remaining bottle off on some unsuspecting Christmas guest.

pours dark and creamy with an srm of 40+. Dark blackish brown with creamy milky head. It smells like chocolate covered cherries with subtle coffee notes. definitely reminds me of Christmas. The taste is extremely sweet and malty. decent mouth feel. tasting notes very rich and bready. strong maraschino cherry and milk chocolate notes hit the palate upon initial sip. mid swallow a medicinal slightly astringent coffee flavor comes through with a finish of yeast, bread, that linger slightly on tongue after swallow. Moderate to low carbonation. A uniquely American adaption to the classic German bock style. The sweetness is over whelming which makes this a 6oz or less sipper for me. Overall, it was pleasant with good flavor complexity.
