3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz bottle from the 2013 Winter pack, pours a very dark brown with a red hue in the light and an off white head, not quite tan or brown, aroma is pretty much dominated by the cherry, a little bit of the chocolate sweetness comes through, but mostly cherry, the flavor is much of the same, a lot of cherry on the front end with some of the sweetness of chocolate in the finish, doesn’t really taste or smell that artificial and that’s what I was expecting coming in, not something I would want to slam a couple of but enjoyable.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12oz bottle from winter seasonal box. Pours black with creamy beige head. Smells like a chocolate covered cherry. Smooth chocolate flavor with tart cherry notes. Full creamy mouthfeel. I love their original Chocolate Bock, and this is an interesting and flavorful twist.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled, as part of their winter sampler pack. Pours a very dark brown, near black, with a small, light tan head. Strong maraschino cherry aroma up front, though bittersweet cocoa trickles in, ultimately turning very reminiscent of cherry cordial candies. Taste is very sweet initially, gradually turning from tart to roasty as cocoa notes blend in, finally settling on a nutty coffee flavor. Whereas the cherry dominates the aroma, it settles in as a highlight in the flavor, bouncing in between roasted barley and baker’s chocolate. Perhaps a bit thin bodied, with mild carbonation. Still, rather tasty.

On tap at Pete’s Place. Dark red color. Essentially no head. Very syrup like. Artificial cherry juice flavors dominate this one. Better than I thought it would be.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Blue Dog in Chalfont, PA. Are you sure this wasn't a Cherry Coke? My gateway beer was Sam Adams Cherry Wheat so I have a soft spot for this one, but I can understand why people would hate this beer. Incredibly sweet, more soda-like than anything.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at Stagshead. Pours reddish brown with nice head and nose of chocolate covered cherries. Tastes just like a cherry coke not all that beery. U also get espresso, light leather, and some malt. If I was back in kindergarten this may be my favorite beer.
