Draft at global brew. Very dark and clear with some red. A nice one finger tan head. Both the aroma and flavor chocolate first and then cherries. It is uncomplicated but nice. A creamy rich feel. This is one of those beers that would make a nice gateway into craft.

Tap @ TacoMac, Johnís Creek. 11oz pour. Black, thin tan head, legs. Tastes like black cherry cola with a hint of burnt malt. Wild cherry lifesaver smell. An ok session.

Tap at rrbf. Pours muddy brown with small cream colored head. Nose is sweet cocoa, light cherry flesh and stem, a bit of rum. This tastes very similar to those chocolate cherry cordial candies and I was kinda surprised how much I liked it. Maybe itís because I had the Chocolate squirrel immediately before.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Love the aroma -- smells like chocolate covered cherries -- sweet, cocoa, cherry pop tart, tangy. Good label, Sam longneck. Very dark brown, clear - but you canít see very far through it. Tastes like chococherries as well, sweet, lots of bittersweet cocoa. Slightly biscuity and roasty in the finish, aftertaste is like the flavor. Walmart.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: APR 10, 2013 new rating this year 2013; much better smell. OLD: On tap at 1 for the road but here it was listed as cherry chocolate stout @ 7% so Iím not sure if this is the right place for this rating. Big black pour. Not much aroma but I do detect a hint of fruit or cherry in the background. Initially, this stuff has lots of cherry in there supported by a choco background. Goodly amount of co2 in there and it makes it more pleasant than i was expecting. Chocolate becomes more apparent as the session continues. Almost evolves to a soda kind of testure on the palate. You would never know this is more than 5%, hides the alky very well. Decent overall beer experience.

On draft at 5 points in Athens. Very Nice dark clear brown pour with not much ring of head. Nice tart cherry and light cocoa roast. Not sweet as much as I thought it would be, but in a good way. Not fake or syrup. Iíd drink this again

Tap at Flying Saucer, Sugar Land.
Pours a deep mahogany with amber highlights. Nose is cherry and chocolate, as advertised. Things go slightly south from here. There is cherry and chocolate in every sip but itís too weak and too sweet. Average mouthfeel. Needs more assertiveness and less sweetness in the flavor.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz. Nearly opaque chocolate with a lasting topping of creamy foam. Pleasant and straightforward aroma of sweet dark cherries and a touch of dark chocolate. Taste opens with sweet and mildly tart cherry and dark berry. Semi-sweet dark chocolate fades in along with a faint trace of woody hop in the long aftertaste. Medium body is smooth and a bit too sweet, but the acidity of the cherries and chocolate provides some much-needed astringency. Definitely a dessert beer. A little less cherry sweetness would have been better.
