COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This special release is brewed just for the holidays. For a new approach to a classic favorite, we added cherries to our traditional Chocolate Bock for a sweet, slightly tart note. Aged on a bed of dark cocoa nibs, the malty, chocolaty, and dark fruit flavors create a rich, complex beer perfect for winter. Cheers!

(draught at Whiskey Cake) clear deep ruby-brown, few ine tan bubbles lining the edges. Nose of artificial cherry, sweet Chocolate malt, taste of chocolate malt, artificial cherry, cream, raw grain mash. The linger leaves something to be desired, but itís not terrible. Just ok.

Bottle. Dark brown to near black opaque pour with a short, dense brown head. Aroma is chocolate covered cherries, soft roasted malt notes, toasted dark bread and cherry cough syrup. Taste is chocolate covered cherries, soft roasted malt notes, light vanilla, cocoa, cherry cough syrup and maraschino cherries. Body is light-medium with a soft, creamy carbonation. Ends with more chocolate covered cherries, cherry cough syrup, toasted malt, light caramel and dark bread. Not bad at all!

Ugh, I hate to say something like "typical mas market fruit beer" because it make me sound snobby, but...itís pretty typical. Smells fine, tastes artificial and in this particular case, pretty medicinal, as well.

Draft at abraxas. Happy hour. Dark brown, scant head. Aroma has a tangy tartness and no depth. The flavors are fruit tart, like a pop tart filling, and it almost tastes like a brown ale gone sour and the mistake is covered up for my calling it cherry. As it warms some mild nestle qwik type cocoa powder comes out.But anyway, itís drinkable... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Brown pour with tan head. Aroma is chocolate covered cherries. A bit of dates followed by the cherries with a touch of funk. Medium body with good carbonation. Pretty good

Bottle best before the coming March. Nose of glorious, unrestrained cherry juice with chocolate -- the immediate and irresistible association is to the over-sugared cherry-stuffed truffles found in cheap sampler boxes of chocolate usually exchanged around the holidays. And these are sweet maraschinos, skins and all, not the sour kind. Pours a deep brown-black which is a very dark ruby under light, plenty of carbonation and a short tan head. Taste is sweet cherry juice, but this one is unfortunately much less gustatory and much more medicinal. Tumbling malt complexity but not very deep, medium body and the carbonation has turned into a gentle fizz, and the expected wave of thorough chocolate is more like a disappointing dollop of tincture of cocoa nib. The base beer is Sammyís generic earthy lager/bock, complete with pros and cons, but man, that cherry really grabs the limelight; others might be bothered ("too much! too much!") but I really get off on the strong ice cream associations and memories of long-forgotten girlfriends who did the damn thing with the cherry stems, even if they were duds where it counted.

Draft at global brew. Very dark and clear with some red. A nice one finger tan head. Both the aroma and flavor chocolate first and then cherries. It is uncomplicated but nice. A creamy rich feel. This is one of those beers that would make a nice gateway into craft.

12oz bottle. Aroma is notes of sweet cherries in syrup, with some light chocolate notes. Flavor was like a cherry cordial, bittersweet chocolate notes, some milk chocolate character. Itís what it says it is.

Growler shared by a friend. Pours a clear reddish brown color with a medium beige head. Aroma of cherry, chocolate and a bit of an estery note. Chocolate malty flavor with a sweet maraschino cherry blast before a roasty and nutty finish.

This bottled brew from a grocery store poured a small sized head of foamy light brown colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a no visible carbonation opaque except at the edges dark black brown colored body and a fair lacing. The mild aroma was of cherry mild chocolate and dark malt. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a strange mellow cherry chocolate aftertaste. The strange flavor contained notes of wood chocolate dark malt cherry and thick malt. Not one that I would likely drink again.
