This special release is brewed just for the holidays. For a new approach to a classic favorite, we added cherries to our traditional Chocolate Bock for a sweet, slightly tart note. Aged on a bed of dark cocoa nibs, the malty, chocolaty, and dark fruit flavors create a rich, complex beer perfect for winter. Cheers!

Bottle. Pours a dark reddish color with rosy highlights. Beige head. Aroma is lots of cherry notes, and some roasted malts. Flavor is also lots of cherry mixed with some sweeter chocolatey notes. Wow this is actually pretty good. Well balanced. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a dark brown - held up to the light there is a reddish hue, like a Dr Pepper. Nose is a cherry explosion...I liked it, but was worried this would taste artificial and overly sweet like the Sam Adams Cherry Wheat. That wasn't the case...yes, the cherry taste is strongly present, but it is nicely balanced by the chocolate and roasted malt. A good dessert beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Samuel Adams Cherry Chocolate Bock is a unique brew that is better left to dessert sharing with a friend. Nice cherry aroma rising from a dark pour with a nice head. Taste is like those chocolate-covered cherry candies -- very sweet, and it hangs on the palate a little too long. Cherry Chocolate is ok for an occasional treat or change of pace.

Subtle. Nice blend of the choc. & cherry Aroma is weak and metallic, but the fllava is nice, although Mott like a true bock. It is a bit watery for a bock. Try it, itís not bad at all.

On tap at my house. Bittersweet chocolate on the nose. Very malt forward slight roast. Cherry soda/subtle dr pepper tastes. Really well made. Nothing overly pronounced. Easy to drink multiples

Pint draught. After a nice display, the head dissolves to thin brown sand covering most of the center with a drift ring around the glass leaving some frosty lacing over a dark red body some shades lighter than opaque. Aroma is cherry bomb with some apple and vanilla chocolate notes. Taste delivers strong chocolate and cherry cough syrup. Taste is masked by the aroma, but thatís all good. But the taste is sweet. Palate is creamy and full. Overall enjoyable as a cherry soda and minus points for slight cloyishness.

Draft at the pony bar in NYC. Deep black/purple color. Smells like a bock off the bat. Taste hits you with fruitiness and sugar. I taste the cherry and slight chocolate. Interesting ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Peteís Place. Dark red color. Essentially no head. Very syrup like. Artificial cherry juice flavors dominate this one. Better than I thought it would be.

Bottled, as part of their winter sampler pack. Pours a very dark brown, near black, with a small, light tan head. Strong maraschino cherry aroma up front, though bittersweet cocoa trickles in, ultimately turning very reminiscent of cherry cordial candies. Taste is very sweet initially, gradually turning from tart to roasty as cocoa notes blend in, finally settling on a nutty coffee flavor. Whereas the cherry dominates the aroma, it settles in as a highlight in the flavor, bouncing in between roasted barley and bakerís chocolate. Perhaps a bit thin bodied, with mild carbonation. Still, rather tasty.
