The red headed step child of BCBS Cherry Rye. If you like cherry soda...you’re probably too young to drink this, but you’ll like it. The bartender out cherries in the bottom of my glass. Without asking. I still ate them afterwards. Those were pretty good. I’d give them a 3.

(bottle) cloudy reddish amber with a medium tall white head; aromas of cherries, artificial cherry, cherry pits; grain, noble hops; clean flavour with a long light bitter finish

Poured into pint glass. Cloudy orangish pour. Very nice IMO. not much of a head but laced down the glass pretty well. Nice smooth cherry aroma. Tastes solid. Not great but tasty nonetheless.
2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 hman43 (46) - Pinehurst, North Carolina, USA - MAY 25, 2013
A very powerful cherry smell with a whiff of honey. A light golden color with not a strong head, but one that does cling to the glass. The taste has too much cherry which drowns out the hops flavoring. Mediocre, probably great if you love a beer that tastes more like a cherry soda.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Bamaboy1975 (99) - Suffolk, Virginia, USA - MAY 22, 2013
Poured this Cherry Wheat Beer from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Poured a hazy golden color, produced a small white head, average retention and an ample amount of lacing was left on the glass. The aroma consisted of soft wheat and maraschino cherries.- Aroma is outstanding. Light in body, the foundation contained malted wheat and tart cherries. For a fruit beer, crisp, refreshing and a nice session beer.

As someone who has drunk many a bad brew, I have NEVER tasted a beer as bad as Sam Adams Cherry Wheat. I was not expecting much, Mr. Koch, but you and the people that you contracted to make this beer should be forced to drink every 1/2 barrel, 1/6 barrel, and every case of this beer until it has been depleted. You most likely will not be able to do so without hating yourself, but you will have don...e the world and yourselves a favor in doing so because this beer is nothing to take pride in. It’s a beer that takes advantage of those who do not know what good beer is because it has "flavor." Maraschino cherry extract does not lend itself to flavor that is desirable, in fact, it lends itself to sucky flavor. You’re trying to front as if you’re the little guy. There’s nothing wrong with being the little guy, but if that’s what you want to be, stop making this beer. This is nothing to take pride in, but something to be ashamed of for sure.

Smells like Cherry Coke, or maybe cough syrup. Pours a hazy golden color with sediment floating around. Tastes slightly sweet but not as much as the odor would suggest. Finishes with a maraschino cherry flavor.

I had this at Global Brew. I thought this was pretty good. I could taste cherry. I would definitely drink this again.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 retinadoc (102) - - MAY 10, 2013
Bottle. Distinct cherry nose, average carbonation. Slightly sweet cherry is predominant flavor, with subdued SA base of toasted caramel and hops. Slightly acidic finish. Better rendering than the SA Cranberry, but not as tasty as SA Blueberry, which is my favorite SA fruit beer. (So far.)

From a bottle (one more past enjoy by date). Golden amber - mostly clear. Aroma is candied cherries and a funky mustiness. Taste is basically like drinking a wheat beer with a Luden’s cherry cough drop in your mouth. Mouthfeel had a bit of foaminess to it that I didn’t enjoy. Overall - OK for a fruit flavored beer; went down fairly easily for me.
