Commercial Description:
Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® follows the centuries old American tradition of brewing beer with native ingredients, in this case Michigan cherries as well as a touch of honey. The sweet fruitiness of the cherries is balanced against the crisp, cereal note from the malted wheat and the subtle citrus flavor from the Noble hops. The end result is a sweet, refreshing beer that is light on the palate but long on complexity. Introduced in 1995 as a summer seasonal brew, Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® developed a large enough following to be introduced as a year round style. Its distinct cherry character has made it one of the most unique and well liked styles of Samuel Adams® beer ever. Cherries are added at two different points during the brewing process. Once during the mash and again during finishing.

I wanted to enter something very special to me for 2250, and that is this abomination. I am often a sucker for a decent fruit beer but man do i hate this cherry wheat toast y malt medicinal bullshit. I despise this beer, i cringe whenever it gets mention in a commercial usually next to a decent offering like the cream stout. A horrendous Robitussin bitterness to boot. One plus side is you can smash the bottle when your done.

Golden color, white head, aroma of cherries (obviously), mm not bad but it’s not for me.

mild aroma of wheat and cherry, it has a foamy off white head that mostly dissipates but leaves some lacing while it is there, a nice wheat flavor with cherries and a slightly bitter hops finish.

Not too bad. It has a strong cherry flavor. Not a lambic ( that’s why it’s considered a FRUIT beer) but a decent cherry flavor. Leaves a little bit of a nasty aftertaste, something similar to medicine (maybe a flaming Homer). But overall, I’d have to say that if I was given one again, I’d drink it.

The aroma is cherries, wheat (duh!!!). The cherries seem forced on what is a run of the mill wheat ale. The aroma is cereal grains, wheat, forced cherry. The apearance is the standard hazy gold color of a wheat beer, slight amber hue. The flavor is just like any wheat ale, but a cherry syrup flavor pops in. The finish is a modest hoppy flavor, and a sugary, fruity residue. Not bad on a hot summer day, not great by any means.

The name says it all - a wheat beer with the aroma and taste of cherry added. Light malt. Nice quaffing on a summer day, but unremarkable.

The aroma really is the best thing about this beer. Gentle hint of cherry and a bit of the wheat. Poured from a bottle and a bit much on the in-bottle sediment with this pour.

This beer is shamefully poor. It is certainly not a lambic, and yet, a wheat beer with fruit added is usually a very good thing. This beer is a very weak and poor wheat beer with certainly cherry juice added. The cherry is only a faint presence and tastes more like a cherry cough drop or cherry candy than a beer put on secondary fermentation on natural cherries. Just a poor beer, thank goodness I did not pay for it.
