Commercial Description:
Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® follows the centuries old American tradition of brewing beer with native ingredients, in this case Michigan cherries as well as a touch of honey. The sweet fruitiness of the cherries is balanced against the crisp, cereal note from the malted wheat and the subtle citrus flavor from the Noble hops. The end result is a sweet, refreshing beer that is light on the palate but long on complexity. Introduced in 1995 as a summer seasonal brew, Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® developed a large enough following to be introduced as a year round style. Its distinct cherry character has made it one of the most unique and well liked styles of Samuel Adams® beer ever. Cherries are added at two different points during the brewing process. Once during the mash and again during finishing.

Bottle. Hazy golden-amber color with a medium, rather stable, beige head. Aroma of sweet, slightly artificial, cherry juice. Weird bittersweet flavor with some medicinal cherry flavoring, some wheat and a bit of fruitiness. Light-bodied. Not very good.

Almost distracting cherry flavor, which is extrmely sweet. slightly soapy finish. Light mouthfeel. If you do not like fruit beers, don’t waste your time!

Usually not a big fan of fruit beers but I figured I’d give it a try given Sam Adams track record. The aroma and taste definitely present cherries but the beer itself is just not very good. If your local store lets you buy one beer out of a six pack, give it a try, if not don’t waste your money.

12oz bottle. Aroma is almost entirely sweet cherries, maybe a hint of wheat? Golden colored, decent head. Taste is sweet cherries, a little sharp wheatiness, and some herbal and earthy hops. The cherries are first and foremost, however. Kind of soapy at the finish. Seems like the cherry flavor is sweet and one-dimensional, almost like a syrup. Not something I will seek out in the future, but not a bad beer, just not ones that jives with my taste for fruit beers.

Pours hazy orange with a nice aroma of cherries. Flavor is light malt, grainy with a much milder cherry flavor than I was expecting.
