COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® follows the centuries old American tradition of brewing beer with native ingredients, in this case Michigan cherries as well as a touch of honey. The sweet fruitiness of the cherries is balanced against the crisp, cereal note from the malted wheat and the subtle citrus flavor from the Noble hops. The end result is a sweet, refreshing beer that is light on the palate but long on complexity. Introduced in 1995 as a summer seasonal brew, Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® developed a large enough following to be introduced as a year round style. Its distinct cherry character has made it one of the most unique and well liked styles of Samuel Adams® beer ever. Cherries are added at two different points during the brewing process. Once during the mash and again during finishing.

Small head that disappears in a few moments. Aroma of cherries only, no hops, malts or anything else. Lightly carbonated with a very slight taste of cherries. But the worst wasyet to come! The aftertaste was terrible! Wasn’t bad yeast, hops or spoiled beer. Very bad taste. Will not purchase this again!

I have liked this beer in past years, but this year it seems to have gone downhill. It had a tiny head that soon dissipated and had a hazy orange color in the glass. The aroma was pure cherries, no hops, malt or alcohol that I could detect. Now for the taste (and this is where it went downhill in my opinion). It was lightly carbonated and had a slight taste of cherries. It wasn’t over powering, however it was the only flavor I tasted. Then there was this horrible bitter taste at the end. It wasn’t anything like a hoppy finish, it was a rotten type sour taste, like something went bad in the beer. It wasn’t very pleasant and wasn’t anything I have experienced in the past from Sam Adams. Usually the beers are pretty consistant from Sam. Maybe I just got a bad batch. Maybe I’ll try it again next year, if I can get this horrible aftertaste out of my mouth by then.

This has varied over the years, and at its best is essentially an American Wheat augmented with cherries, at its worst a bizarre unbalanced mess. The color is nice, usually.

Who let their cherry popsicle melt in my beer? Artificial cherry syrup taste with a very weak tasting beer. Not dry or crisp to my palate, just bland. I’m not crazy about fruit beers, but I’ve had some good Belgian ones. This was just bad.

Too much cherry, its supposed to accent the beer not make it taste like beer flavored cherry cough syrup

Disgusting cough medicine taste. Doesn’t seem as quality as cherry beers from micros. I’ll never drink this one again.
