COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® follows the centuries old American tradition of brewing beer with native ingredients, in this case Michigan cherries as well as a touch of honey. The sweet fruitiness of the cherries is balanced against the crisp, cereal note from the malted wheat and the subtle citrus flavor from the Noble hops. The end result is a sweet, refreshing beer that is light on the palate but long on complexity. Introduced in 1995 as a summer seasonal brew, Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® developed a large enough following to be introduced as a year round style. Its distinct cherry character has made it one of the most unique and well liked styles of Samuel Adams® beer ever. Cherries are added at two different points during the brewing process. Once during the mash and again during finishing.

UPDATED: DEC 20, 2007 RE-RATE Poured from bottle. An old favorite, the aroma and first sip are always a great experience for me. It loses it’s cherry, so to speak, as you drink, but it’s maintains a hearty wheat flavor and feel. Finishes nicely. A good summer choice.

Not bad, but a Bell’s Cherry Stout blows this out of the water.

A good dessert beer perhaps, but not something you want to have alone or in the middle of a tasting session. Too sweet, and the fruit is overpronounced. Its also a lot lighter than I think it should be, as this would taste much better with a more profound malt base, preferaby similar to the Rodenbach ales.

I’m not a big fan of fruit beers, but as usual SA has done an admirable job here. Hazy, deep gold color under a frothy, white head. Very distinct cherry aroma combined with some faint malt. A well presented cherry vanilla-like flavor; just right, not too sweet, cloying or overwhelming. Smooth texture, not too fizzy. Very enjoying on a hot summer day.

This is an unusual beer. I have to admit that it hardly tastes like beer at all. The cherry flavor is VERY apparent. I like it, but don’t drink this if you are in the mood for beer. It is like maraschino cherries with a bit of a beer taste. Well maybe not that bad, but it is very cherry. Seems to have more of a fruity flavor than the raspberry beers I have had. Too fruity in my opinion.
