UPDATED: MAY 4, 2004 AHHHHH LOOK OUT, THE CHERRIES!!! HERE THEY COME, THE CHERRIES! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORerate. Ok, it's not that bad, still has a bad, stale hops flavor that I cant get around. The cherries dominate everything and is cloying. Smells like artificial cherry syrup, looks decent, but is clear and fizzy.

Not a bad beer, not a great beer. Clean tasting, but has more of a cherry candy taste to it then I was expecting.

This beer is a reminder that it is very rare for someone to use fruit flavors well while brewing beer. Every year I am tricked into trying a cherry or berry flavored beer that is inevitably disgusting. The cherry flavor is more similar to cherry candy or cough syrup than actual cherries. I keep searching for the beer that will actually have the subtle flavor of black and/or sour cherries, which has led me to waste many a beer drinking opportunity on a sickly sweet beer. Luckily, all is not lost - check out Jeff King’s work in Pontiac, michigan ...

Sweet cherry flavour, which is complimented by the crisp palate.

This beer is tolerable. Sure there are hints of cherries, but is that a good thing. Not very flavorful, but then again I’m not a huge Samual Adams fan.

This beer rocks. A great summer beer. Love the cherry flavor and the dry finish provided by the malted wheat. A great summer beer.

Don’t be pretentious--it’s a fruit beer and a good one.

UPDATED: MAY 10, 2003 A nice limpid golden amber to copper color with a modest head and decent lace to coat the glass, Nose has a nice sweet hint of cherries, and the underlying malts add much to the appeal. Start sweet, the top light in its feel, the finish overly acidic, the hops adequate with the aftertaste dry. A drinkable beer, but not something I'm wild about, but many will like it.

I was pleasantly suprised. I can’t say that fruit beers are one of my favorite styles. However, this beer was pretty good. The cherries were a bit on the heavy side, but the crisp wheat flavor did a nice job of rounding out the flavor. The slight pink color was different as well and made for a real summery drink.
