Commercial Description:
Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® follows the centuries old American tradition of brewing beer with native ingredients, in this case Michigan cherries as well as a touch of honey. The sweet fruitiness of the cherries is balanced against the crisp, cereal note from the malted wheat and the subtle citrus flavor from the Noble hops. The end result is a sweet, refreshing beer that is light on the palate but long on complexity. Introduced in 1995 as a summer seasonal brew, Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® developed a large enough following to be introduced as a year round style. Its distinct cherry character has made it one of the most unique and well liked styles of Samuel Adams® beer ever. Cherries are added at two different points during the brewing process. Once during the mash and again during finishing.

Very refreshing beer. Not sweet, but smells like it would be. The cherry smell is so strong that you think the beer will be too fruity but it’s not.

Thin head, golden appearance, cherry aroma, not good. But that’s just me. If you like this kind of thing, then you’ll probably like this beer. So I give it a good score.

Clear golden straw color with a fizzy white head. Nose is strong cherries and that’s really it. Taste is not as overpowering. A bit of wheat meets pale malts, some cereal maltiness with undertones of cherries. Only issue is that the cherries taste like canned pie filling rather than fresh fruit.

Pours a white head that leaves some temporary lacing. Fuzzy light orange body. Aroma is straight up cherries. Flavour is mostly cherries, but there are noticeable wheaty beer elements in there as well. It has a slightly metallic finish. Also there is a little bit of citrus flavour.

Sweet cherry flavor. Golden color with light head. It is what it says it is and is a good change of pace but not an everyday beer.

This is probably the beer that Sam gets the most abuse for. Everyone says it is to sweet and not " enough like beer". But I like it for what it tries to be. Pretty refreshing and tastey but I will admit it can seem like im drinking a soda rather than a beer. Two of these should be enough before one moves onto something a bit more refined.

Dark golden in color with a slight hint of red. The smell is heavily of cherries and almost seems artificial. The taste is sweet cherry but the finish is not a clean or crisp as it should be.

Bottle. A normal golden lager type color with a medium white head that leaves some lacing. Aroma of cherry cough drops and honey, Flavor is much the same, a strong artifical cherry taste with some ok honey notes as it warms, way too sweet for me. I loved this stuff when I first got into craft beer, but now I pass on it if possible. Love most of Sam’s other stuff though.
