Commercial Description:
Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® follows the centuries old American tradition of brewing beer with native ingredients, in this case Michigan cherries as well as a touch of honey. The sweet fruitiness of the cherries is balanced against the crisp, cereal note from the malted wheat and the subtle citrus flavor from the Noble hops. The end result is a sweet, refreshing beer that is light on the palate but long on complexity. Introduced in 1995 as a summer seasonal brew, Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® developed a large enough following to be introduced as a year round style. Its distinct cherry character has made it one of the most unique and well liked styles of Samuel Adams® beer ever. Cherries are added at two different points during the brewing process. Once during the mash and again during finishing.

Bottle pours a hazy golden amber color with a foamy white head. Nice lacing around the glass. Aroma is dominated by cherry, but there are also subtle notes of wheat and spices. Nice balance in the flavor. There is a lot of cherry in the taste, but not in a bad way. Smooth and drinkable.

The beer has a cloudy amber appearance. The aroma is a good blend of cherry and malt. The flavor is a little wheaty, but the cherry flavor comes through a bit stronger. It’s somewhat smooth. Now, I like cherries, so naturally I like this beer a lot. Yes, it is sweet, but not overwhelming so.

Beer has a wonderful scent and beautiful color. Flavor is very sweet, and one needs to beware that this can make it a little tough on the palate. Not a bad beer, especially if you are in the mood for something flavored.

Bottle. Aroma of aritificial or candied cherries, depending on how you look at it. Flavor has some nice wheat notes in addition. Kinda weird and medicinal at times, kinda refreshing at other times...ok to drink, but felt more like an alcopop than a beer, and one is definitely plenty.

This is an awesome beer if you like cherries. Appearance is nice and light gold. The aroma has a very cherry smell. The head is nice and white and last a decent amount of time. Not a very strong wheat taste but there is a lot of cherry flavor here. I really enjoyed this beer.

Well this beer smells like cherry coke not like beer. Looked light orange amberish color with a nice creamy head. The flavor wasn’t what i expected from Sam Adams, this beer tasted like cherry cough syrup than a beer. don’t get me wrong i like cherries but i felt the cherries over powered the hops. The beer did have a okay feel on the tongue. Overall it let me down. Cherries in beer is a good idea, but don’t have the cherries disrupting the whole balance of the beer. Maybe this beer was more geared towards women, because my girlfriend and one of my other women friends did enjoy it.

Bottle. Poured a clear light orange with a small white head that left pretty lacing on the glass. Aroma of candied cherries. Flavor of the same cherries - reminded me of a cherry SnoCone, with a wheat finish. The wheat malt was a little weak, but otherwise, very tasty! I liked the sweet cherry taste and it didn’t get too sweet or artificial for me.

This is a very good beer. It’s always exciting to crack open a bottle of this brew. The head pours a very nice thick inch or two and it remains for a while. The lacing is nice. Smells of, well, cherries. The taste is tart and sweet of cherries and the hopps bring good balance to this brew. Sam Adams did a good job on this one. It’s brewed well, it’s a good beer, but if you don’t like the taste of a normal sweet cherry, you won’t like this. Unfortunately, this beer has taken a lot of flak because many people don’t like the taste of cherries.
