Commercial Description:
Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® follows the centuries old American tradition of brewing beer with native ingredients, in this case Michigan cherries as well as a touch of honey. The sweet fruitiness of the cherries is balanced against the crisp, cereal note from the malted wheat and the subtle citrus flavor from the Noble hops. The end result is a sweet, refreshing beer that is light on the palate but long on complexity. Introduced in 1995 as a summer seasonal brew, Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® developed a large enough following to be introduced as a year round style. Its distinct cherry character has made it one of the most unique and well liked styles of Samuel Adams® beer ever. Cherries are added at two different points during the brewing process. Once during the mash and again during finishing.

This is a very good beer. It’s always exciting to crack open a bottle of this brew. The head pours a very nice thick inch or two and it remains for a while. The lacing is nice. Smells of, well, cherries. The taste is tart and sweet of cherries and the hopps bring good balance to this brew. Sam Adams did a good job on this one. It’s brewed well, it’s a good beer, but if you don’t like the taste of a normal sweet cherry, you won’t like this. Unfortunately, this beer has taken a lot of flak because many people don’t like the taste of cherries.

This is a well constructed beer, but I just do not like Cherry flavored anything. I like the color, but the aroma and taste is less beer and much too cherry heavy. On the bright side, it does not linger.

disappointing beer from sam adams, thin and artificial in cherry taste. i am not much of a fruit beer fan but i have had fruit beers that actually tasted like beer, this just tasted like carbonated cherrys.

Bottle, 12 oz. Light copper color with a creamy white head. Aroma and flavor of cherries, additional flavor of yeast. Interesting beer.

A letdown the second time I tried it. Pours clear, honey brown. Strong fruit notes in the aroma. Taste is heavy with cherries, sourness, and mild bitterness. Not a whole lot of body, and ultimately a very mediocre effort from Sam

Bottle pours golden with a thin white head. Smells of cherry dominate. Tastes like mostly cherry with hints of beer. Not a very good fruit beer.
