Commercial Description:
Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® follows the centuries old American tradition of brewing beer with native ingredients, in this case Michigan cherries as well as a touch of honey. The sweet fruitiness of the cherries is balanced against the crisp, cereal note from the malted wheat and the subtle citrus flavor from the Noble hops. The end result is a sweet, refreshing beer that is light on the palate but long on complexity. Introduced in 1995 as a summer seasonal brew, Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® developed a large enough following to be introduced as a year round style. Its distinct cherry character has made it one of the most unique and well liked styles of Samuel Adams® beer ever. Cherries are added at two different points during the brewing process. Once during the mash and again during finishing.

From a bottle poured amber with a aroma of cherries. Flavor of fake cherries with a quick finish.

Pours a dark golden yellow from the bottle. Smells of cherries but in a fake way. A bit fruity on the taste but no major follow through on the aroma. I wasn’t all that impressed and wouldn’t come back to it.

This is pretty much what I had expected. It pours a cloudy copper color with a nice foam head and quite a bit of lacing. Aroma is a strong (you guessed it) cherry flavor. Mild malts with a zesty cherry flavor. A reference to cough syrup isn’t unjustified and definitely doesn’t help it’s cause. Not the greatest mouthfeel. Refreshing enough but probably not something to drink a lot of or very often. Actually, I might not get it again, the whole cherry beer thing just isn’t for me.

Big frothy head with spectacular bubbles. They look lively. Big aroma on this one however I think it would be better if it were more subtle. Smells too much like cherry cough syrup. Not as sweet as the aroma suggests which did surprise me. I thought that this was going to be in Lambic proportions which I can not stomach. This was nice and mild. I think this must of been the brewer of "Grape Pale Ale" must of aimed for. Not bad but only if the aroma matched the subtly of the taste.

Bottle. Powerful cherry aroma with a hint of wheat. Slightly hazy and somewhat carbonated. Flavor is however disappointingly one dimensional. Unfortunately the cherry flavor which comes across artificial, overpowers other flavor elements. Refreshing though. If this would have been a Bavarian style with cherry accents, the it would maybe better.

Another nasty beer from Sam Adams. Medicinal cherry aroma and taste dominates this otherwise watery cough syrup like beer. Blucky.
