Commercial Description:
Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® follows the centuries old American tradition of brewing beer with native ingredients, in this case Michigan cherries as well as a touch of honey. The sweet fruitiness of the cherries is balanced against the crisp, cereal note from the malted wheat and the subtle citrus flavor from the Noble hops. The end result is a sweet, refreshing beer that is light on the palate but long on complexity. Introduced in 1995 as a summer seasonal brew, Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® developed a large enough following to be introduced as a year round style. Its distinct cherry character has made it one of the most unique and well liked styles of Samuel Adams® beer ever. Cherries are added at two different points during the brewing process. Once during the mash and again during finishing.

Pours amber with a small thin white head. Tons of sweet cherry in both the aroma and flavor. This reminds me of a sweet fruit soda, more so than beer. It would be hard to tell it was beer in a blind taste test. Well the malts are very light, kinda straw character to it, with just maybe the faintest bitterness in the finish. The fruits have a light tartness to them, but overall are a bit too sweet.

Bottle. I love this beer. Wonderful aroma. Taste does have a cherry taste but it is not overpowering. Great summer time beer.

Didn’t blow me away at all. The cherry flavor tasted artificial. This was more like soda than beer, both because of the fruity flavor and because of the high amount of carbonation. I didn’t really care for this, and it’s one of the weaker Sam Adams offereings. Really, it tastes like Seltzer and cherries.

...a good, fruity beer that’s not too dark, but it is on the more expensive side for an Adams beer. Light and refreshing, but flavorful, no hop overtones, and a nice malty wheat pretty much balanced flavor, it is definitely worth trying.

This beer is exactly what it says it is. A cherry wheat beer that is dark in nature. Although a bit pricey for an american beer, it is worth it. One of my favorites.

I’ve hear a lot of talk about this. I tried it and well it’s not a blockbuster. It’s aromatically pleasing with a maraschino cherry like hint, with mild spice. It’s appearance is very ordinary. It’s flavor is similar to it’s taste, like a mixture between wheat and maraschino cherry juice. It’s not terrible, but not really beer either. It’s ok. It’s smooth. It’s kind of a one and done.

The aroma is very pleasant with a real hit of cherry, but as usual that is a sign that the flavor would be too potent. Overall this is too sweet tasting to be enjoyable.
