Commercial Description:
Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® follows the centuries old American tradition of brewing beer with native ingredients, in this case Michigan cherries as well as a touch of honey. The sweet fruitiness of the cherries is balanced against the crisp, cereal note from the malted wheat and the subtle citrus flavor from the Noble hops. The end result is a sweet, refreshing beer that is light on the palate but long on complexity. Introduced in 1995 as a summer seasonal brew, Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® developed a large enough following to be introduced as a year round style. Its distinct cherry character has made it one of the most unique and well liked styles of Samuel Adams® beer ever. Cherries are added at two different points during the brewing process. Once during the mash and again during finishing.

Bottle and tap...Pours a reddish orange w/ a slight diminishing white head. Cherry, wheat, a little caramel on the nose. Taste is quite sweet, with a touch of cherry, some metallic hints, and a little bitter. Very palatable...w/ a somehwat creamy mouthfeel, but it isn’t heavy.

I wish I could say better things about this beer since I really respect Sam Adams, but this is basically fruity crap.

Copper in color......hazy. Thick white head. Strong cherry aroma. Slightly sweet flavor of cherries up front. Smooth mouthfeel. Finishes with a long cherry aftertaste, yet a slight hint of malt.

People don’t seem to give Sam Adams a look enough. Nor do they seem to take it serious because you can buy it at the super markets. But they should. This beer is a prime example of why (to my anyway). This Cherry Wheat is fantastic. The Cherry is not over played here. Subtle. And lasting and the soft cherry after taste is wonderful. Layered over a really good wheat beer makes this one of my top beers.

Wonderful cherry aroma. Pale, clear color with minimal head, great cherry flavor. A great beer anytime.

Very Cherry Smell, Distinct Carbonation in this one. Not being a big fan of cherry drinks this didn’t suit me well, Way to sweet taste for a beer I think.

Strong, rather sweet cherry aroma. Golden amber color with a decent white head. Thinnish body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is wheat and cherry; mostly wheat. It is sort of Hawaiian Punch flavor. The finish is lightly sweet with just a small amount of bitter. Interesting, but ???

Amber color with a hint of red. Not enough aroma to be noteworthy. Obvious cherry and malt tastes. Not the sweet cherry flavor I imagined but more of a strong cherry undertone. Also a bit of an alcohol comes through despite the low ABV. Good concept but just not what it could be.
