Commercial Description:
Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® follows the centuries old American tradition of brewing beer with native ingredients, in this case Michigan cherries as well as a touch of honey. The sweet fruitiness of the cherries is balanced against the crisp, cereal note from the malted wheat and the subtle citrus flavor from the Noble hops. The end result is a sweet, refreshing beer that is light on the palate but long on complexity. Introduced in 1995 as a summer seasonal brew, Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® developed a large enough following to be introduced as a year round style. Its distinct cherry character has made it one of the most unique and well liked styles of Samuel Adams® beer ever. Cherries are added at two different points during the brewing process. Once during the mash and again during finishing.

Slightly cloudy amber beer with a small white head and distinct cherry aroma. The hop aroma is barely perceptible. Taste is like bitter, cherry soda. Finish is cherry soda. May work for a refreshing beverage on a hot day, but not one for sipping.

12 oz bottle. Pours the color of weak iced tea, but with a modest head. Smell of cherries dominate. The hop aroma barely makes it thru. Taste is of cherries too. Its light and crisp but a bit thin tasting. Again with the cherries man! Not for me.

Not one of BBC’s best. The aroma was dominated by the cherries. The taste was dominated by the cherries. It felt like i was drinking a soda and couldn’t get the cherry taste out of my mouth for the rest of the night.

Mass-produced fruit beers run the risk of offering a wimpy battle between beer and fruit-flavored corn syrup, and while this beer is certainly not the worst of them, it is venturing out onto that slippery slope.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a nice amber color with a small white head that disappeared quickly. Contained a decent amount of carbonation. It had a nice sweet cherry aroma but was a little strange for a beer. The taste was okay with strong cherry accents and hops. Very light bodied. The afftertaste was what made this beer sub-par. It left a strange cherry taste on the palate reminding me of caugh syrup. This would be decent on a hot day, but I could definitely think of much better alternates.

A light maple color on the pour. Large foamy, frothy head. Sweet aroma, with the cherries definately present. Light bodied ale taste, and the cherry comes through pretty strong. A nice beer. The aftertaste is a little funky. At first taste this beer seems like half winecooler half beer because of the sweet cherry taste, but it settles down a little bit as you sip.
