Headbanger (1574), Aurora, Illinois, USA Nov 22, 2007 12oz bottle-A medium golden with a two finger white head and an aroma of a cherry life savers. A light bodied brew that comes off with a taste of cherries followed by a cherry cough drop and a bit of honey. Not overpowering and a fairly decent balance. Not bad. DuffMan (2719), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada Nov 20, 2007 Cloudy orange-gold, cram coloured head. Christmas cake/marzipan and marachino cherry aroma, very strong. Thankfully the palate is toned down compared to the aroma-- I was steeling myself for a cherry-candy cooler experience. Not so! Actually the cherry character is relatively in balance with the pale malts and only semi-sweet. A surprisingly dry finish. I think by expecting the worst, I was pleasantly surprised. leitrim65 (398), Seattle, Washington, USA Nov 16, 2007 On tap at Ruby Tuesday’s in Danbury, CT. Pours a cloudy orange color. Nice cherry like nose. Light and refreshing with sweet and sour cherry flavors. I think I’d enjoy this one more on a hot summer’s day. ranmannm (6), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA does not count Nov 16, 2007 Cherry cough drops. I had to drink the whole 6 pack one night at a time. Really gets to you on the 2nd one. No wheat flavor at all. Really need to relax on the cherry. kseecs16 (865), Naperville, Illinois, USA Nov 16, 2007 What in the world. This pours a clear orange with a medium off-white head. LIttle lacing. This beer lacks pretty much all wheat character. Strong grenadine cherry soda aroma with no richness. Soda pop flavor and feel in the mouth. Cherry riding on a body of boring malts. I usually am okay with SA but his summer pack is killing me. zack (2), USA does not count Nov 13, 2007 Cherry aroma, Cherry taste, Easy to drink. The cherry flavor is a little overwhelming, but overall it is not bad.
nbarringer (3), USA does not count Nov 13, 2007 Pours an orange-reddish color. Very nice smelling beer. You can really smell the cherries. Unfortunatly, the smell is much better than the tate. Taste is a bitter, overwhelming wheat/cherry flavor. I was expecting a "hint" of wheat and cherry. This beer is a dissappointment to the Sam Adams family. houseofwares (21), Chicago, Illinois, USA Nov 13, 2007 12oz. bottle. Pours and orange gold with minimal head. The nose is overwhelmed by cherry, but in a cough syrupy way, while a trace of malt lingers behind the dense fruit aroma. The palate is watery. The flavor begins with the sharp, somewhat sour cherry, then suddenly dissapears with barely any finish at all. Very drinkable, but not remarkable.
