Commercial Description:
Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® follows the centuries old American tradition of brewing beer with native ingredients, in this case Michigan cherries as well as a touch of honey. The sweet fruitiness of the cherries is balanced against the crisp, cereal note from the malted wheat and the subtle citrus flavor from the Noble hops. The end result is a sweet, refreshing beer that is light on the palate but long on complexity. Introduced in 1995 as a summer seasonal brew, Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® developed a large enough following to be introduced as a year round style. Its distinct cherry character has made it one of the most unique and well liked styles of Samuel Adams® beer ever. Cherries are added at two different points during the brewing process. Once during the mash and again during finishing.

12oz bottle-A medium golden with a two finger white head and an aroma of a cherry life savers. A light bodied brew that comes off with a taste of cherries followed by a cherry cough drop and a bit of honey. Not overpowering and a fairly decent balance. Not bad.

Cloudy orange-gold, cram coloured head. Christmas cake/marzipan and marachino cherry aroma, very strong. Thankfully the palate is toned down compared to the aroma-- I was steeling myself for a cherry-candy cooler experience. Not so! Actually the cherry character is relatively in balance with the pale malts and only semi-sweet. A surprisingly dry finish. I think by expecting the worst, I was pleasantly surprised.

On tap at Ruby Tuesday’s in Danbury, CT. Pours a cloudy orange color. Nice cherry like nose. Light and refreshing with sweet and sour cherry flavors. I think I’d enjoy this one more on a hot summer’s day.

Cherry cough drops. I had to drink the whole 6 pack one night at a time. Really gets to you on the 2nd one. No wheat flavor at all. Really need to relax on the cherry.

What in the world. This pours a clear orange with a medium off-white head. LIttle lacing. This beer lacks pretty much all wheat character. Strong grenadine cherry soda aroma with no richness. Soda pop flavor and feel in the mouth. Cherry riding on a body of boring malts. I usually am okay with SA but his summer pack is killing me.

Pours an orange-reddish color. Very nice smelling beer. You can really smell the cherries. Unfortunatly, the smell is much better than the tate. Taste is a bitter, overwhelming wheat/cherry flavor. I was expecting a "hint" of wheat and cherry. This beer is a dissappointment to the Sam Adams family.

12oz. bottle. Pours and orange gold with minimal head. The nose is overwhelmed by cherry, but in a cough syrupy way, while a trace of malt lingers behind the dense fruit aroma. The palate is watery. The flavor begins with the sharp, somewhat sour cherry, then suddenly dissapears with barely any finish at all. Very drinkable, but not remarkable.
