Commercial Description:
Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® follows the centuries old American tradition of brewing beer with native ingredients, in this case Michigan cherries as well as a touch of honey. The sweet fruitiness of the cherries is balanced against the crisp, cereal note from the malted wheat and the subtle citrus flavor from the Noble hops. The end result is a sweet, refreshing beer that is light on the palate but long on complexity. Introduced in 1995 as a summer seasonal brew, Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® developed a large enough following to be introduced as a year round style. Its distinct cherry character has made it one of the most unique and well liked styles of Samuel Adams® beer ever. Cherries are added at two different points during the brewing process. Once during the mash and again during finishing.

Cherries....cherries....maybe a couple more cherries. Incredibly sweet, almost like someone dumped a cup of Grenadine in each bottle. This was ok for one beer, but no way I could drink more than two. Way too sweet - in a bad way.

Bottle. Pours a honey golden color with a small white head. The aroma is a very strong cherry and light honey. Decent lacing on the glass. The taste is a very sweet cherry with a bitter finish. Too sweet for me but still a decent fruit beer.

Dark golden/amber ale, small dissapearing off white head. Strong cherry cough medicine aroma, not bad at this time of year! After a while the harsh medicinal tone goes and it has a scent of glazed cherries. Pretty straighforward taste, cherry dominatesd, but not as sweet as the nose might lead one to believe. Actually gets a wee bit bitter on the end, like cherry pits. Mouthfeel is thin, and its only the pleasing carbonation that stops it being downright watery. What can I say, a pleasant enough drink, better in hotter weather.

Have had this before, but I had an extra in the fridge and had to rate officially. Having been to the National Cherry Festival in Traverse City, MI many times, I can tell you the cherry flavor in this beer is legitimate. Deep, dark red cherry nose with small hints of honey and lemon. A light bodied beer with a full, creamy cherry flavor. I am normally a hater of fruit beers, but this one is pretty good.

medium gold color with minimal white head. Very strong cherry cough drop flavor and taste. No bite or hopiness to balance the intense cherry flabor, but quite heavy on the carbonation...Thin, wimpy mouth feel - way to close to drinking a cherry soda. Overwhelming cherry after taste. It’s a unique flavor, but I wasn’t impressed at all.

12 oz bottle - Honey color. Off white head with fair amount of lacing. Aroma of Marchiano (sp) cherries. Fruity flavor but it tastes artificial. Lots of carbonation. I appreciate this beer because of it uniqueness, but really wish there was more wheat and a tad bit less cherry. Its a drinkable beer and deserves a tasting once in a while.
