dancatts (91), Pennsylvania, USA Oct 12, 2007 Dark golden color with an aroma mostly consisting of cherries. Has hints of a wheat ale with little carbonation and a very long lasting cherry aftertaste. Good, but not nearly the best flavored wheat I have had. ajolly2 (123), USA Oct 10, 2007 I had heard good things about it, but after a few sips I knew I wasn’t going to waste any more time on it. The cherry and citrus flavors combine for a taste like cherry cough drops. Not very pleasing whatsoever. milljam (562), Norman, Oklahoma, USA Oct 10, 2007 I’m not sure how this ended up being a well-liked style of Sam Adams....I almost didn’t want to rate this, but I felt I should save people from wasting good beer money for something that shouldn’t be called beer. Absolutely does not taste like Michigan cherries (I would know since I am from Michigan)....completely over-balanced, much too sugary and did I mention the cherry taste?!?! Long rant short, save your money for something better, which shouldn’t be hard to find compared to this. BlackForestCO (819), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Oct 8, 2007 Too sweet and syrupy for its own good. Taste is ok, but overpowering artificial cherry taste takes away from the other ingredients. I don’t see myself having one of these again in the near future. dkoonce (880), People’s Republic of Athens, Ohio, USA Oct 6, 2007 Cloudy straw, with a massive, slightly pink tinged, head that maintains its height for minutes. Impressive, almost artificial, cherry aroma, blends well with the wheat and hops. Sweet, and cherry. Even with a head cold, the cherry flavor cuts through. Without the cold, I don’t think I could handle it. 37steel (186), St. Charles, Illinois, USA Oct 4, 2007 12 oz bottle. Reddish golden with a pinkish head. Strong cherry aroma. I like sour cherry beers (see New Glarus or any Lambic) and this is too sweet for me. Decently balanced. Not a bad beer for megabrew drinkers. drfabulous (1212), Columbia, Missouri, USA Oct 3, 2007 Another Sam Adams that doesn’t taste like anything. Cherry wheat? Where? Isn’t this just the same old lager? dmtroyer (409), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 2, 2007 12oz. Got this in a sampler... I think they marketed this one wrong, this definitely shouldn’t be thrown in a summer sampler where the main objective is drinking. This has a viscosity and syrup that is hard to stomach even 12 ounces of. The aroma is intriguing, and even a few gulps are enjoyable but this is not very drinkable. Maybe in a lighter style, but not so heavily done.
