Commercial Description:
Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® follows the centuries old American tradition of brewing beer with native ingredients, in this case Michigan cherries as well as a touch of honey. The sweet fruitiness of the cherries is balanced against the crisp, cereal note from the malted wheat and the subtle citrus flavor from the Noble hops. The end result is a sweet, refreshing beer that is light on the palate but long on complexity. Introduced in 1995 as a summer seasonal brew, Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® developed a large enough following to be introduced as a year round style. Its distinct cherry character has made it one of the most unique and well liked styles of Samuel Adams® beer ever. Cherries are added at two different points during the brewing process. Once during the mash and again during finishing.

And I don’t even like cherries! Like most Sam Adams, pours well, nice head. Not fantastic, but all around ok.

Bottle. Definite cherry aroma. Smells like fruit cereal. Slightly hazy dark gold. Steady carbonation. Not much lace or head. Tastes pretty much as it smells. Cereal or granola bar with tasteful amount of cherries. Pretty good. Considerably underrated as is typical for a Sam Adams brew.

Pours out cloudy light orange color with a big white head. Big maraschino cherry aroma with a hint of wheat. Cherry taste is much more subtle when drinking, much more pronounced wheat in the flavor. Finishes dry with some more cherry to finish it off. Its a cherry flavored wheat beer, it is what it is.

Bottle. Pours fairly clear and light orange color with medium off white head. Aromas are of cherry, nothing more, and a pretty overly done artificial smelling cherry. I’m not sure if they put fake cherry in this but it sure as hell smells like it. Flavors are mostly cherry, tart, and with no wheat malt coming through the still artificial tasting cherry flavors. Light in body, with pop like carbonation. Finish is lingering cherry, not too sweet. I damn near poured it out........this is the worst fruit beer ever.

Bottle: Pours a clear, dark golden color with a medium white head. Nose is very fruity with sweet cherry pie scents. Yum!!! Up front the taste is wheaty and earthy with light cherry tones. Then the floral and dry trailer comes through with a vengence. Herbal and reminiscent of dandelions. In sum, it smells great and drinks poorly.

Totally bizarro offering from Mr. Koch. Weak, wheaty, cherry aroma. Little carbonation, very sweet and watery, nothing to write home about. The name of the beer is "Cherry Wheat" and that’s exactly what the beer is. At least the title doesn’t lie like, say, "Miller Chill."

Very strong, sweet bing cherry taste, almost completely covers the wheat. Aftertaste is tart, which I feel offsets the sweetness nicely. Not a beer that you want to drink every day, but I find it especially refreshing as a treat from time to time. Honestly somewhat surprised at some of the low scores, as this one is a very drinkable treat.
