Commercial Description:
Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® follows the centuries old American tradition of brewing beer with native ingredients, in this case Michigan cherries as well as a touch of honey. The sweet fruitiness of the cherries is balanced against the crisp, cereal note from the malted wheat and the subtle citrus flavor from the Noble hops. The end result is a sweet, refreshing beer that is light on the palate but long on complexity. Introduced in 1995 as a summer seasonal brew, Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® developed a large enough following to be introduced as a year round style. Its distinct cherry character has made it one of the most unique and well liked styles of Samuel Adams® beer ever. Cherries are added at two different points during the brewing process. Once during the mash and again during finishing.

12 oz bottle best before Dec 07.

Clear copper with a small beige head.

Aroma is maraschino cherries.

Flavor is artificial cherry with a light dusting of wheat.

Disappointment.

Amber color. Strong cherry scent. Mild head when poured. Aftertaste is a little bit much, almost of a bubble gum or cough syrup consistency. Still better than most pale lagers.

Golden amber colored pour. Smell is big maraschino cherry flavor, and even though I don’t normally like the artificially cherry-like smell, I kind of liked enjoyed the smell as it mixed with the light wheatiness. Taste was similar but a slightly more subdued cherry flavor, although it is still quite noticeable, as is the wheat. Maybe a bit thin on the palate overall, but this is something I’d drink again, and still like just as much as before I became somewhat choosy about my beers.

Bottle. Crisp amber color with a very distinctive cherry smell (go figure!). Also, not surprisingly - the taste is overwhelmingly similar to canned or preserved cherries. It is slightly flat, however bubbly it may appear - it just kindof sits on the tongue and doesn’t do much.

You can definately smell the cherries. It has a copper color with a very pleasant cherry taste. I’m not typically a fan of fruit flavored beer, but this has a nice balance of cherry and wheat. The beer has an oily touch with moderate carbonation. I’m a big fan of Sam Adams products and this doesn’t disaappoint.

Poured a copper body with a medium-sized white head. Huge sweet cherry nose that transpired into flavor. Finish was a pleasant wheat, bread dryness that did some justice to the overwhelming cherry. A little watered down and unbalanced, but decent.
