Commercial Description:
Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® follows the centuries old American tradition of brewing beer with native ingredients, in this case Michigan cherries as well as a touch of honey. The sweet fruitiness of the cherries is balanced against the crisp, cereal note from the malted wheat and the subtle citrus flavor from the Noble hops. The end result is a sweet, refreshing beer that is light on the palate but long on complexity. Introduced in 1995 as a summer seasonal brew, Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® developed a large enough following to be introduced as a year round style. Its distinct cherry character has made it one of the most unique and well liked styles of Samuel Adams® beer ever. Cherries are added at two different points during the brewing process. Once during the mash and again during finishing.

Golden Yellow with a hit of red, strong off-white, tan head dissapates quickly. Sweet cherry/malt smell. Taste is sweet/tart, cherry/malt taste with a bit of yeast, slightly bitter at the end. Good beer, not too sweet for a fruit beer.

Another one of my favorites. It’s got such a clean cherry taste, and the aftertaste doesn’t sour in your mouth at all. I’ve tried a lot of fruity wheat beers that really didn’t taste like the fruit they supposedly used, but no such disappointment here. I love it with a good juicy burger.

Sampled at the Sam Adams Beer Lover’s choice tasting at Blacklick Wine & Spirits on 7/30/09. Cloudy orange pour with a thin off-white head. Lots of cherry in the nose with sweet malt and yeast. Wheat malt flavor with a ton of cherries. Tastes like a liquid cherry Nutri-Grain bar.

Tap. Hazy dark yellow, 1mm white head. Aroma is thick with sweet cherry, although to me it smells artificial, like cherry candy. Malt and yeast barely detectable underneath the cherry. Flavour is basically the same, but with more bitterness in the finish. Everything about it was awful, but at the same time I found it oddly compelling, and I finished the whole glass. Fairly light body, refreshing carb. Would probably be undrinkable if it had the chance to warm up.

Bottled.... Pours medium gold with a fluffy white head.. Aroma of artifical cherries, kinda like a cherry perfume. It basically smells like Boston Lager with cherries added...Flavor is bitter cherries with some bready undertones.. It’s not horrible but its not my thang.

Orange in color with a nice white head. Aroma of cherries and wheat. Really get the flavor of cherries in there. A good fruit beer.

bottle. Light orange pour with a thin, fizzy white head. Huge bittersweet cherry aroma. Initial flavor is dominated by sweet cherries with some wheat and malty tones. Slightly bitter finish. As your palate gets used to the flavor the sweetness dulls into more of a tart, bitter taste throughout. A love it or hate it beer, I like it because it tastes more natural than most of the other fruit beers out there.
