4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Ahhh, Sam Adams Cherry Wheat...
For a dude who loves cherries, this is the stuff....practically a dessert in itself!
The strong cherry aroma really grooves with the olfactories...and the non-sweet-yet-very-cherry taste lingers in a very good way...I could sometimes feel myself taste it the next day at work - more of a strong, good memory but still...
One thing - this stuff is only good fresh...I’ve had some Cherry Wheat that had been sitting around for many months, and had gotten really bad...same with all Sam Adams beers I’ve tried - only really good when relatively fresh - they don’t age too well at all!

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 oz bottle pours light yellow. Cherries are prevalent throughout the aroma and taste. Light body and mild finish. Weird and artificial cherry tastes makes this not very enjoyable. Not so good.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle with thanks to Brian. Pours clear orange, small off-white head, some lacing. Aroma is strong maraschino cherry, some wheat. Flavor is light plus sweet, a misplaced sharp vegetal bitternes, cherries, wheat. Light body, well carbonated. Interesting.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, best before 6/2015. Pours lightly hazy golden orange color with a 1 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of black cherry, wheat, cracker, biscuit, light honey, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of black cherry and bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of black cherry, wheat, cracker, biscuit, light honey, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Minimal earthy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of black cherry, wheat, cracker, biscuit, light honey, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Good balance and robustness of black cherry and bready malt flavors; with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 5.3%. Overall this is a good fruit wheat beer. All around good balance and robustness of black cherry and bready malt flavors; and very smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Old rating. Bottle from Old Town. Cherry aromas with a faint bit of grain detectable. Tastes is overly sweet and medicine-like on the palate. Finish is lightly dry. Sickeningly cherry sweetness is overpowering.

I cracked one of these open after a recommendation from a buddy. Good lord, was that a mistake. It pours a hazy golden color with a minimal head. The aroma is of cherry cough drop, and in the worst way possible. Upon tasting, there is a fleeting taste of a wheat beer before becoming over-powered by the taste of cherry cough syrup. This beer, for me, was wretched. I was unable to finish it.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 oz refrigerated bottle poured into a weissbier glass. Pretty good looking. Clear and light golden. Fairly clear, though a tad hazy. Solid lasting white two-finger hear. Nose is strong sweet cherry and wheat. Body is appropriate, though a tad thin. Dry. Almost crisp, but not quite. Taste is also sweet cherry and wheat. Not the most complex beer, but enjoyable and refreshing nonetheless.

Not great, not terrible. But the cherry-beer combo is slightly displeasing, but then again, Iím a non-flavored beer kinda dude. Def better than other flavored beers on the market, and although the cherry flavor in this beer is similar to Cherry Coke the drinking experience is not as bad as Cherry Coke, no pungent syrupy taste, this a wheat beer afterall.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
I remember drinking this beer about 20 years ago at a hometown bar, pounding about 3-5 drafts at a time while eating yummy fried bar food and sandwiches. Iím sure I bought some in the bottle too, but I am doing this review mostly based on old memories...but I donít think the beer has changed since then. Definitely on the lighter side, slightly red, but mostly that pale wheaty color you see from most wheat beers. You do notice the cherry in both the aroma and taste. After a few of them it started to remind me of drinking cherry 7-up. I donít know if itís worthy of the "Brewmaster Collection" label, but because of itís popularity I can see why. Itís a good beer worth trying. I really havenít had too many other cherry wheats to compare.

1.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20
Bottle at Publix supermarket. Tasted like someone took the liquid from a bottle of Maraschino Cherries, mixed it with some spring water, and then added a tablespoon of alcohol. Terrible! So disappointed...as this was my very first Samuel Adams, and had always wanted to try something brewed by them. Unfortunately this was a bad first experience. Hopefully future ones wonít be.
