Commercial Description:
Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® follows the centuries old American tradition of brewing beer with native ingredients, in this case Michigan cherries as well as a touch of honey. The sweet fruitiness of the cherries is balanced against the crisp, cereal note from the malted wheat and the subtle citrus flavor from the Noble hops. The end result is a sweet, refreshing beer that is light on the palate but long on complexity. Introduced in 1995 as a summer seasonal brew, Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® developed a large enough following to be introduced as a year round style. Its distinct cherry character has made it one of the most unique and well liked styles of Samuel Adams® beer ever. Cherries are added at two different points during the brewing process. Once during the mash and again during finishing.

The cherry is a bit overwhelming. The aroma is right in your face with a bucket of cherries but the beer lacks a full body to it. pours light red with a light head.

Dark golden in color with a slight hint of red. The smell is heavily of cherries and almost seems artificial. The taste is sweet cherry but the finish is not a clean or crisp as it should be.

Color is a hazy deep golden yellow with a thin off-white head that fades somewhat fast, lace is spotty. Aroma reminds me of watered down cherry flavored cough syrup, or maybe kool-aid, theres some wheat malts giving an overall sweetness in with the flat cherryness that seems artificial to me. A powerful nose as it warms but seems almost to much and a bit artificial. Taste is sweet malts of wheat, pale and soft, with a kick of cherry tart flavor thats a bit to sweet and again comes across somewhat artificial and syrupy. A little hard to get past the cherryness with a bubbly carbonation and lighter feel that nearly makes it champagne-like. As it warms it becomes alot easier to handle and makes for a nice drinker but I don't think I'd have alot of this before the flavor starts to get old.

12oz bottle. As soon as the bottle is opened, a huge wave of cherry wafts out. Spot on shirley temple aroma, which is a little strange, but not too bad. The flavor is not too cherry dominated, but definitely has a fake red cherry quality that tires quickly. Not awful on the whole, but not something that I enjoyed.

Pours out cloudy light orange color with a big white head. Big maraschino cherry aroma with a hint of wheat. Cherry taste is much more subtle when drinking, much more pronounced wheat in the flavor. Finishes dry with some more cherry to finish it off. Its a cherry flavored wheat beer, it is what it is.

Pours amber wheat in color with a full creamy froth. Medium nectar weight ample residual effers. Aromas of wheat w/ cherry medicine strong and up-front. Flavors are fruity with slightly tart cherries as the main focus followed up by traditional wheat essence. I would’nt say this brew was sweet but definately fruity. I am not a big fan of SA but I do appreciate they’re drive and amibition. Once in a while they come up with something really tasty. This brew is not one of them. The best thing about it was the color and the creamy froth.

Lighter shade of amber. Strong cherry aroma, with a bit of malt. Sweet cherry flavor, a little too sweet, couldn't have been real cherries. Lots of carbonation, dry finish. Not bad, but a bit too sweet.

Clear orange-amber w/ a thin ring of beige foam. Strong maraschino cherry aroma w/ very mild hint of wheat & honey. Thin, watery, carbonated feel. Bland, wheaty flavour w/ an unpleasant mineral bitterness. Blah.
