Commercial Description:
Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® follows the centuries old American tradition of brewing beer with native ingredients, in this case Michigan cherries as well as a touch of honey. The sweet fruitiness of the cherries is balanced against the crisp, cereal note from the malted wheat and the subtle citrus flavor from the Noble hops. The end result is a sweet, refreshing beer that is light on the palate but long on complexity. Introduced in 1995 as a summer seasonal brew, Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® developed a large enough following to be introduced as a year round style. Its distinct cherry character has made it one of the most unique and well liked styles of Samuel Adams® beer ever. Cherries are added at two different points during the brewing process. Once during the mash and again during finishing.

Bottle. Pours copper with a tiny white head that is mostly diminishing and lined lacing. Huge sweet maraschino cherry aroma with wheat malt notes. Cherry and wheat flavor, kind of sweet, with a malty body. Light to medium bodied and fizzy, refreshing.

Pours a slightly cloudy golden amber with a foamy off white head that left some lacing. Aroma of cherry...artificial cherry like a cherry soda. Aroma and flavor were very similar...basically cherry soda, some wheat, light grains and light malt. Not much else and too artificial for my tastes.

Bottle. Smelled the cherries right off the back. Too bad the taste wasn’t as nice. Poured a small fizzy, frothy white head that was mostly lasting, fizzy carbonatioin, slightly hazy, and an orange with a little yellow for the hue. Malty, wheat, cherries, sweet, sour, and tart nose. Flavor was sickingly sweet, acidic, cherries, tart, and somewhat sour tasting. Mouthfeel was slightly tingly and sweet. Light body.

Thanks to CAPTRON for this beer! I haven't had this in years. And like CAPTRON said, it is like reuniting with an old friend. Pours an reddened gold with a small white head. Nice cherry nose. Maraschino cherries, perhaps? Sweet but not over the top candied cherry taste along with some grain and malt. Lighter body than I recall. Very easy to drink beer and one of SA's better beers IMHO. Nice to have this again. If only I could get the Double Bock and Scotch Ale....

Rerate On tap at Atlanta Airport - Sweet artificial aroma of cherries; mouthfeel - slightly thin, Decent dark golden appearance - good head. Cherry is only prominent flavor, tad too much carbonation. Original 2.8 Smooth drinking hut kind of had a cough syrup taste to it - too artificial - the cherry flavor was not subtle at all. No real sense that this was a wheat beer- no cloudiness etc.

Draught. Light amber color with a thin off white head. Prominent artificial cherry flavor and aorma with yeasty wheat aroma and flavor hiding in the background. Not a big fan.

This beer was a favorite of mine before I knew anything about beer. Now if you drink it and think about it you will realize it tastes like BUTTER! Dont believe me? Try it! Pours a red/brown color with a small off white head. Aroma hits hard with cherries, malt, yeast...flavor has cherries, yeast, and the mentioned butter quality.

Bottle. Strong artificial tart red cherry aroma - really covers up any other aroma. Golden yellow with moderate head. Slightly sweet artificial cherry flavor - like Fruity Pebbles, cherry Laffy Taffy or numerous other cheap cherry candies This is really one of the first SA brews I’ve been disappointed in. Maybe the mix of honey and cherry comes across to me as artificial, I don’t know.
