boomerbrew (14), Texas, USA Aug 8, 2008 Mixpack bottles: Very cherry! The aroma is great but the flaver has too much cherry taste. It reminds me of a cherry Coke or more like a Sprite since there is so little beer taste. I can home brew a better cherry beer myself that still tastes like beer. I can see this appealing more to women who prefer wine coolers so I see why this beer will have mixed reviews. Clear gold with white head. Bittering and carbonation are fine but still over powered by cherry when swallering. RickS95 (4), Evansville, Indiana, USA does not count Aug 7, 2008 First time I had the Cherry Wheat was at the Food and Wine Expo at Expot Center a few years back. By the time I had the Cherry Wheat, I was already a little sauced, but even then, I thought it was a great beer.
The next day, we went back, and the first thing I did was have a Cherry Wheat, while I was completely sober. It was still the best beer I could remember having.
I’m not a big fan of fruit beer, but after having this, I’ve been trying others.
I don’t agree with the others, I don’t think the cherry is overpowering. It’s clear in the smell and there is a hint of it in the finish, but nothing overpowering. Underhook (76), Lincoln Park, New Jersey, USA Aug 6, 2008 Cherry drowns everything else out. Cherry aroma, cherry taste. Pours golden, small white head, little lacing. Some malt in there, traces of wheat. All in all a little too fruity for me. I’m not a huge fruit beer fan to begin with, this was a little much for me. Probably enjoyable if it’s your thing, but it was a little too fruity and not nearly "beery" enough for my tastes. Somebody else mentioned that this fits well in a Samuel Adams variety pack- I’d agree with that. Brewmaster1 (9), Westchester, USA does not count Aug 6, 2008 This beer screams Cherry! Smells like cherry, tastes liek cherry, everything about this beer is cherry. If you like cherries this is the beer for you. I drank 2 bottles of this and that’s about all I could handle. I don’t think I could drink a six pack fo this beer. Fits in great with the variety 12 pack of Sam Adams. Bella68 (3), Alabama, USA does not count Aug 5, 2008 Awesome cherry aroma, very refreshing summer beer, clear, golden color. I will keep this in my fridge this summer!
