Commercial Description:
Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® follows the centuries old American tradition of brewing beer with native ingredients, in this case Michigan cherries as well as a touch of honey. The sweet fruitiness of the cherries is balanced against the crisp, cereal note from the malted wheat and the subtle citrus flavor from the Noble hops. The end result is a sweet, refreshing beer that is light on the palate but long on complexity. Introduced in 1995 as a summer seasonal brew, Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® developed a large enough following to be introduced as a year round style. Its distinct cherry character has made it one of the most unique and well liked styles of Samuel Adams® beer ever. Cherries are added at two different points during the brewing process. Once during the mash and again during finishing.

Clear yellow-red in the glass with a good white foamy head that soon dies. Areomatic cheery flavor. It’s good, but will it last? Is this really brewed with cherries? A little watery for my palate. Not a full wheat ale. Has a little syrupy mouth feel and a tiny bitter ending. Drinks too easy from my perspective. This beer could be a pop almost.

Nice looking red pour, hits the nose instantly with a whiff of cherry cough medicine, taste was the same, too way too sweet, tasted like Vicks, part of a holiday sampler, needless to say I passed this one off.

Amber pour, and smelled like cherries with grain...I thought the aroma was very good. Taste sort of reminded me of cherry cough syrup...not terrible, but not very good. Slightly dry and sweet finish. Not a bad Sam Adams, if you aren’t a fan of sweet beer then you won’t like this beer...it is very sweet.

Pours a hazy light yellow color with a white head. Aroma was of lots of cherries, fake sugared cherries though, not sour. Flavor was much the same way too sweet. I really have a hard time beleiving they used real cherries in this and not extract.

Boy did I used to hate this beer. Tap at Uncle Bear’s. Had it again tonight and what struck me the most was the PURE MARASCHINO cherry nose. Unreal. Safe to say it kept me from hating it. I also found the fruit more mellow, less synthetic, and more blended with the wheat. Still, if the cherries were sour and they aged it in a Utopias barrell, they might have something proper...

Bottle 07’. Cherries and light wheat in the nose. Brilliant amber pour with crema head. Flavor is all cherries and bitterness. Cloying sweetness in the finish. Not a fruit nut so that has definetly colored this rating.
