Commercial Description:
Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® follows the centuries old American tradition of brewing beer with native ingredients, in this case Michigan cherries as well as a touch of honey. The sweet fruitiness of the cherries is balanced against the crisp, cereal note from the malted wheat and the subtle citrus flavor from the Noble hops. The end result is a sweet, refreshing beer that is light on the palate but long on complexity. Introduced in 1995 as a summer seasonal brew, Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® developed a large enough following to be introduced as a year round style. Its distinct cherry character has made it one of the most unique and well liked styles of Samuel Adams® beer ever. Cherries are added at two different points during the brewing process. Once during the mash and again during finishing.

pours a hazy opaque orange with a lacy well-sized white head. fragrant with fresh bing cherries. very drinkable, and one of my favorite change of pace beers.

First time I had the Cherry Wheat was at the Food and Wine Expo at Expot Center a few years back. By the time I had the Cherry Wheat, I was already a little sauced, but even then, I thought it was a great beer. The next day, we went back, and the first thing I did was have a Cherry Wheat, while I was completely sober. It was still the best beer I could remember having. I’m not a big fan of fruit beer, but after having this, I’ve been trying others. I don’t agree with the others, I don’t think the cherry is overpowering. It’s clear in the smell and there is a hint of it in the finish, but nothing overpowering.

Cherry drowns everything else out. Cherry aroma, cherry taste. Pours golden, small white head, little lacing. Some malt in there, traces of wheat. All in all a little too fruity for me. I’m not a huge fruit beer fan to begin with, this was a little much for me. Probably enjoyable if it’s your thing, but it was a little too fruity and not nearly "beery" enough for my tastes. Somebody else mentioned that this fits well in a Samuel Adams variety pack- I’d agree with that.

This beer screams Cherry! Smells like cherry, tastes liek cherry, everything about this beer is cherry. If you like cherries this is the beer for you. I drank 2 bottles of this and that’s about all I could handle. I don’t think I could drink a six pack fo this beer. Fits in great with the variety 12 pack of Sam Adams.

Awesome cherry aroma, very refreshing summer beer, clear, golden color. I will keep this in my fridge this summer!

Krieks are good, but fruit beers made with cherries never seem to turn out very well. I wouldn’t drink this again. It probably would have been a drinkable - if boring - wheat beer for the summer time, but the stale cherry flavor ruined it for me.
