COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® follows the centuries old American tradition of brewing beer with native ingredients, in this case Michigan cherries as well as a touch of honey. The sweet fruitiness of the cherries is balanced against the crisp, cereal note from the malted wheat and the subtle citrus flavor from the Noble hops. The end result is a sweet, refreshing beer that is light on the palate but long on complexity. Introduced in 1995 as a summer seasonal brew, Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® developed a large enough following to be introduced as a year round style. Its distinct cherry character has made it one of the most unique and well liked styles of Samuel Adams® beer ever. Cherries are added at two different points during the brewing process. Once during the mash and again during finishing.

UPDATED: APR 8, 2009 Sam Adams Cherry Wheat has a splendid aroma that pours an amber color. It is very sweet tasting - the cherries are very dominant. It is followed with a great, slightly bitter aftertaste. Decent fruit beer, however, very filling...

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured hazy, in reddish golden color, nice foamy white head. Aroma is strong cherry and grain. Taste is also of cherries (feels a bit artificial) quite sweet and a bit sticky. Not my favorite from Samuel Adams, but nevertheless drinkable and interesting.

My favorite Sam Adams beer, I like most of them! This a great beer, taste of cherry is very subtle, this is not a fruit flavored beer, the taste of cherry is just slight.

Bottle at home. Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow. Aroma I start cherries. Flavor is cherry cough syrup. Only not as good. Cough syrup at least helps with a cough. Very bitter. Cherries taste artificial. Yuck. Didn't like this at all. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Best before September 2014.
Appearance: The body is hazy with sediment floating around, an orange center with golden edges though it’s opaque. The head is dense and creamy, white hued, with mediocre retention.
Aroma: The aroma is huge sweet/cloying artificial cherry. There are maraschino cherry hints as well as grenadine. It doesn’t smell bad, but definitely way out of balance and far too pungent.
Taste: The flavor is much more balanced than the aroma, but still definitely on the cherry/sweet side. The flavor is like a cherry Dum Dum pop. Not a real thing about it. If they still used real cherries I’d be surprised. They might throw maraschino cherries with the sweet juice in, but I imagine that most of the flavor is artificial.
Palate: Medium bodied with moderate to high carbonation.
Overall: This used to be a beer that I loved. I’m not sure if it’s changed or if my palate has. This is too artificial for me though to the point of not really wanting to finish it. I see the appeal, it’s just not for me.

This one isn’t good. It reminds me of the cherry from a cherry Coke Zero and Corn Pops. Which is odd, almost adjuncty.

DATE REVIEWED: June 13, 2014... GLASSWARE: Lindemans flute... OCCASION: post-baseball banquet unwinding...APPEARANCE: hazy, cloudy off-yellow body; slight effervescence; nice, thick, somewhat rocky snow white head; reasonable, patterned lacing... AROMA: tart punch of cherries, yes--slightly malty, bready scents underscore the equally understated hops--but mostly, cherries... PALATE: medium-bodied, fizzy, carbonated--not as refreshing as expected, but more body too... TASTE: malt profile disrupts the cherry prominence, as does the honey which forms a funky, unsettled finish...some cardboard notes further damn the experience... OVERALLL: things were going well for this wheat--which is much better than Sam’s cherry lambic--until I actually tasted it: a medicinal introduction, a drag of an aftertaste, and not really much to savor in between...and isn’t taste just about everything?

Pours a bit hazy golden with a bit of red tint with a small white head. Nose is cherry cough syrup. Very sweet mouthfeel with a tart finish. Not very good

12 oz bottle from a friend The beer poured a cloudy amber with a white frothy head and lacing. The aroma of cherries with bread greets you. the medium body beer has light carbonation. This is just not my type of beer. The taste of cherries is present with sweet after tones. The finish was sweet with cherries in the aftertaste.

Transfer from BA review on 5-6-12- Poured from bottle into pint glass Appearance – Pours a golden color with a two finger white head. The head fades over a few minutes to give a medium amount of lacing. Smell – Sweet cherries aromas are big and bold. They are matched with a nice bready and sugary smell which well al combined create an enjoyable cherry bread aroma. Taste – It begins with a sweeter bready and malty flavor. This malty flavor has hints of darker frits which develop more and more as the taste advances. In the beginning there is some cherry, raisin, and plum. As the taste advances the cherry strengths at the expense f the other fruit flavors and is accompanied by a lighter brown sugar taste. At the end the big cherry with the still very present bready base leaves a clean cherry bread taste on the tongue. It a very linger and delicious end. Mouthfeel – A slightly higher than average body thickness with a medium level of carbonation. The average carbonation is perfect as it makes it a very refreshing brew, while the body really allows those nice flavors to sit on the tongue and soak in. Overall – With great flavor, aroma, mouthfeel and price this is one of the best fruit beers out there. It is a great balance between malt and fruit making this one fantastic and great drinking brew.
