3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Botle. Moderate roasted note for the malt, light to moderate cooked orange for the hops, light meat smell for the yeast, with hints of raisin, smoke, toffee, brown sugar and whiskey. Head is average size, creamy, light beige with fair lacing and good legs, and is mostly diminishing. Color is clear mahogany. Flavor is moderately sweet and acidic to start, and is moderately sweet, lightly acidic and lightly to moderately bitter in the finish. Palate is medium, oily with a carbonation between soft and lively, and has a sticky finish. Bold and strong, this is a tasty Smoked beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz bottle. Pours a mahogany color with a one finger beige head and ample lace. Smoky aroma with some leather and smoked meat, balanced out with a brown sugar sweetness. Flavor is quite a bit sweeter than the aroma would suggest. More brown sugar, some caramel and toffee like qualities. A bit of floral hop too. Full bodied with a creamy mouthfeel. I enjoyed this more than I thought I would.

It’s like a great barley wine with a hint of smoke in it. I really like it and when ever I have a taste for Barley wine I’ll go get this. I only say that because most of the Barley wines are twice as expensive.

A - Pours a clear copper-ruby color with a finger of frothy khaki colored head. The head fades down at a normal pace leaving behind some lacing.
S - Aroma is a mix of smoke, caramel malts, earthy clove spice, cedar, vanilla, with a bit of brown sugar and booze.
T - Starts off with some smoke, vanilla, sweet caramel malts, with a bit of clove and other spices. Through the middle, some more spices with some brown sugar and cedar come through. The finish is a mix of smoke, spices, caramel malts, and a bit of booze.
M - Medium-plus bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a smoky and warming finish.
D - Very drinkable. Nice Rauchbier with some good smokey flavor and enough body to balance out the flavors.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from a bottle. A huge malt and smoke nose, both are very well balanced. The flavor is fruity malts, soft smoke, clean, and easy drinking. A very well balanced smoked beer.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
aroma - caramel, raisin, smoke, vanilla,
appearance - amber, clear, minimal head,
taste - heavy sweetness,
palate - medium body, soft carbonation, long finish,
overall - wish it was more smokey, the smoke was minimal to me. It is easy to drink and very sweet. No alcohol burn, could be more complex.

Mahogany with a full toffee colored head. The nose: salty, smoky, bacon, with alcohol lurking at the back. Start nice on the tongue, but becomes very sweet as warms. Coats the tongue like a slightly oily, smoky sleeping bag. On the way out it feels like someone has poured smoky burnt sugar on your tongue. A beer you can chew, you should try this one.

Wow. Bacon in a bottle. Courtesy of Greg at Whole Foods. Pours very dark in the glass it has a smokey roasted aroma with some fruit. First thing that hits me on the taste is bacon. More than I’ve had with any beer almost too much. There is also some dark fruit that helps balance everything. Unique beer.
