3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Poured into a snifter. Batch #1.
5.0 A: Clear deep amber color. Two and a half fingers of super creamy off-white/beige head. Retention is very good considering the ABV and glass covering lacing is left.
4.5 S: The smoke runs deep in this one and I love it. Campfire and smoked pork/bacon are abundant. Underneath, this is quite clean with caramel and toffee sweetness. This isn’t overly sweet like a lot of bocks. Good balance between the smoke and the beer.
3.0 T: The smoke is a little lighter in the taste than in the nose. Unfortunately the booze pokes through and is formitable. Caramel and toffee are there again, but in less quantity than I would have guessed. Still clean, but a little bready. Still tasty, but not as well integrated as the nose.
3.5 M: Heavier medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Reasonably creamy. Smooth enough with a light warming on finish.
3.5 D: Really good looker and smeller. After that, it’s still a decent beer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark caramel-brown color with a huge creamy orange-tan head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was sweet caramel, molasses, and a strong bock presence but no noticeable smoke. The flavor was faint hickory with sour caramel with a solid bock presence and faint dark fruits. The finish was long and tangy bock with faint hickory. Medium body. The alcohol was well hidden. Decent.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle via StateLine.. If held to the light its a ruby red color, looks brownish with out the light. Decent litle head that faded quickly. Nose of sweet malts, little vanilla and strong campfire smoked meats. The smoked campfire meats really shine through, followed by a sweet malts base. Body is a little on the sticky side but easy to drink. Overall: Nice brew!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle pours red/brown with a tan head. Aroma is sweet with notes of caramel, smoked meat, and light vanilla. Flavor shows the same with additional roasted notes as well as brown sugar toffee. Overall
body is moderate, relatively sweet, and finishes with a rich, yet balanced smokiness. Definately not as intense as some other rauchs out there.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Caramel pour with a light brown head. Aroma was caramel malt and a lttle smokey bbq. Taste was the smoke/bbq upfront, not overbearing followed by the sweetness of the bock. Very nice beer.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep ruby red copper pour with a tightly packed eggshell head. Aroma much more subtle than the flavor but shows some rauchbier qualities with smoke, pork bellies, caramel, and vanilla. Maple, char, bacon, and some alcohol in flavor. The alcohol is a bit distracting and this is sweeter than I would have liked. Medium mouthfeel with ample carbonation.
