COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hazy and golden in color, this brew is a fresh twist on the popular Hefeweizen style. Eureka and Lisbon lemons, from three growing regions in California, balance out the wheat malt character, resulting in a crisp and refreshing wheat ale with subtle lemon flavor. Cheers!

bottle. Golden with small head. Wheat beer with light lemony tartness. Unexciting, but fairly refreshing.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance had a slightly hazy copper/yellow body that has a small white head that appears for just a minute and slowly dies to a carbonated looking layer coating the top of the beer. The lacing is spotty and leaves some rings. There isnít any carbonation seen rising. The smell had some citrus and some bread. I definitely smell the yeast, in fact, the yeast almost comes out overpowering. The taste did not seem to be balanced as the yeast comes out overpowering again. The wheat tries to come out and play but pretty much stays in the background. A certain blandness comes out in the taste that makes me wanna question what was Boston Beer Company thinking. The palate was extremely watery and the carbonation stays where it should - basically balanced, sessionable. Overall, decent for the style, but I couldnít get into this one.

Coastal Wheat is bizarre. The lemon character is strong and strangely sweet. While the citrus notes have settled into the aroma, they are less apparent in the taste. In fact, the lemons give the beer an oddly sweet taste that reminds me of corn. This isnít a bad wheat ale, but itís highly unusual. For many, that will be off-putting.

I had this at home. Pours a hazy gold with a white head. Taste wheat and citrus. I thought this was pretty good. I would definitely drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Rated 10-24-2009 (Bottle) This beer pours a small off-white head with a short retention, cloudy body, spotty amounts of lacing, and no visible carbonation. The Aroma is wheat, hints of bananas, lemons, malt, and some spice. The Taste mimics the Aromas. The Palate is tingly and this is a medium bodied beer. In conclusion, this beer falls short for the way it taste.

Bottle shared by a friend. Clear gold in color with a medium off-white head. Aroma of malt, lemon and creamy wheat. Creamy wheat flavor with lemon character before a semi-dry and creamy finish.

Bottle pour clear yellow. Nose supposed to smell like lemon and wheat, but to me smelled like a urinal. Taste had chemically tart lemon and slight chlorine finish. Had to drain pour this one

Bottle: Pale golden color with a light haze and lots of bubbles. A finger of creamy white head. The lemon is strong in the aroma, along with a little maltiness, and lighter florals. Taste is more wheat oriented than the aroma would suggest; wheat, light grass, and just enough lemon/citrus to notice. Sessionable.

Sweet wheat aroma with hints of lemon. Cloudy golden color with a medium white head. Mild sweet cardboard flavor with a sticky palate.
