2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Already not my favorite style. Pours a hazy golden as expected. Aroma is grassy, with lemon zest and pretty prominent alcohol. Taste is quite underwhelming. Its thin and the finish has an unpleasant metallic/acidic texture. I am generally a fan of SA offerings, but this one falls way short.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
July 4, 2012 bottle from MGM. Golden orange pour with some head. Aroma was lemon and grain/wheat. Taste was consistent with aroma, but had an unpleasant aftertaste. Thin bodied with little carbonation. I typically like wheat beers but this did not tickle my fancy.

OK SA, a solid summer brew! lemon flavor and aroma. Balanced of citrus tartness and sweetness with a little spicy hops. Clean, crisp and refreshing.

Drank from a 12oz. bottle. Not very impressed by this one. Aroma is kind of bland while the color is okay. Has a very carbonated taste with a limony aftertaste

2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Drank from a 12 oz bottle. I didn't dig the aftertaste and the beginning of the taste was a little sweet for me. Not really into wheat beers either.

Pale amber pour, slightly hazy, 1 finger head. lemon and slight banana on the aroma. Citrus fruit up front, Lemon zest, A bit of banana and clove. Very slight bit of pepper in the finish. Like a watered down wit. Somewhere below Circus Boy but above Blue Moon.

Lemony but not much else. Unusually full bodied but extremely one-dimensional. Odd sweetness in the aftertaste. It’s almost like a lemon cream soda.

Lazy lemon aroma and taste. Underwhelming. Tastes like watery, lemony light juice. My first disappointment from Samuel Adams.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Samuel Adams Coastal Wheat has a thick, white head and a hazy (especially after swishing) yellow-orange, bubbly appearance. There is not much lacing with this. The aroma is faint, but one does pick up lemons and a little bit of bread. Taste is of lemons and a little bit of sweet bread. No bitterness here. Mouthfeel is watery, and Samuel Adams Coastal Wheat finishes crisp, clean, and lager like. Well, this tastes like lemon soda. It went well with my breakfast (egg & bacon sandwich). This almost tastes like something that Big Shot beverages would produce. It’s pretty good. Girls would like it. RJT
